quite simple. I want a penalty for flying off the road at high speeds, or dragging the side of the car around a wall. Why play a race simulator that lets you slam your car into barrels and then actually finish the race?
I don't need super details for damage, but I expect at minimum
- loss of steering control at varying levels
- ability to lose a wheel
- ability to lose spoilers
- minor graphical damage to the body
- ability to blow out the engine if you redline it all day long
much more than that and I don't care too much, but the lack of those is a major downside. I've played racing games and turned off the damage and it becomes faster to shoot across the grass in a corner and pick up a penalty than it is to take the corner properly.
