Forums - Sony - Namco robs Sony

I find it ironic that two years ago members were saying something quite different. Two years ago these were two quality developers. Two years ago their games were not getting the sales that they deserved. Two years ago their games were great, and the highlight of many lists. Two years ago their games were to spark Sony domination.

Today they weren't so good. Their games sucked. Their sales were justifiably lousy. Sony could do better no big loss. You can't steel what someone doesn't want. Who wants a sequel. Sony will be better off. This article is full of fail.

That is your side then, and your side now. For my own part I think the truth is somewhere in the middle. You oversold them then, and your downplaying them now. Why are you doing this. The word is propaganda, and stroking bruised egos. The truth is these developers were decent enough, and their exclusives were much needed when the PS3 didn't have a pot to piss in. You needed them then, but you don't think you need them now.

The truth is your wrong, and do not get so full of yourselves with recent developments. Sony still needs every second party exclusive title they can get. Microsoft is still beating Sony on this front, and has done so all generation long. Microsoft can do this thanks to architectural commonality with the PC. Here is some simple wisdom for the sour grapes crowd. Something is better then nothing.

In this case Sony isn't going to get three or four exclusives this generation, and these were competent developers. Their games weren't the greatest, but they weren't crap. A console does need good games just as surely as it needs great games. It is always better to have as many of those be exclusive as possible.

I think you guys should be a little more respectful if for no other reason then you owe these two developers for bringing you decent games when you didn't have much to smile about. Have just a little gratitude. Your probably going to play their games again. Your just not going to have the old bragging rights. Which you thought were so great just a couple years ago.

you just have to write too much , way too much on how much you think "sony is doomed!" in every single thread dont you?

no one in this thread mentioned the games are bad, and no one menitioned Sony will be better off ...blah blah

I can sort of understand the talk about Ninja Theory but GameRepublic? Do these people even know who they're talking about? GameRepublic's been shopping game ideas around to both Microsoft and Nintendo. Sony didn't really lose what they never had.

Tag - "No trolling on my watch!"

Wow...

Genji was a fantastic game but the second was rushed. Bad camera angles and difficulty spikes hurt that game big time. Oh well.

Same for ninja theory. they first made a game on the original Xbox, and Heavenly Sword was going to be on Xbox 360.

they aren't second party nor first party, so i don't see how "Sony lost" anything, its like if someone said Microsoft lost Capcom when they released Dead Rising on Wii.

Who the hell is this drivel even aimed at? Nobody that has posted in this thread really fits that description.

Your posts get more annoying every day.  You see everything in terms of "us vs them", and your posts are generally nothing more than a rant aimed at "those sony fanboys" or whatever.

Take this post of yours:

Yes the reaction is overblown. However I have no real problem with that either. Kicking around the members of the Sony Defense Forces has been less then rewarding over the past year. They kind of rolled over and played dead. This development has reinvigorated the stupidity. They are going to rush head long right back into the meat grinder for another go. Seemingly having forgotten what happened last time.

Is that really how you view the world around you?  That this is some grand battle between fanboy factions?

GR made Folklore which is on my top 10 most fave games this gen, NT made Heavenly Sword and Gengi, both fine games but both to short but still worth it.

All i have to say on this subject is, these two where NOT the best sony has, but they still made quality games that still are worth playing.

So regardless this is a blow to Sony indeed, because honestly, a Folklore 2 Exclusive to PS3 would have been nice, but i doubt a Folklore 2 anyway because of the poor sales.

Atleast now doing things this way they won't go out of biz like a few others have, if you look at it that way they'll still be able to bring us game, exclusive or not and thats all that matters.

I'm starting to wonder if you actually read the posts in these threads before spouting.

And snuggle the girls be they short or tall,
Then follow young Mat whenever he calls,
To dance with Jak o' the Shadows."

Out of curiosity which side are you on? Perhaps your problem is that I am not on any side. That I refuse to be cataloged. That I cannot be contained to any singular viewpoint. That I can think of a situation in any number of ways. That I refuse to fight the war, but am more then happy to turn the battlefield upside down. Perhaps your problem is that I am actually rational, and not fanatical. I am basically free to be an agent for anything.

You ask if I see it as a us versus them. No I see it as a them versus them. I am disconnected from the ebb and flow. I try to create a balance of opposition where I see one lacking. When I see a topic bogged down in the same old debate. I just have to pound a few wrinkles in. I am only interested in your war in the abstract. I am only interested in the nuance of what has, is, and will transpire. In other words I am the prototypical member for forums such as these. I do not care who wins. Only in the analytical debate that I can have.

I thrive on original debate, and fundamentally new points of view. I am not happy unless I get to see something I haven't seen before. This little console war may matter to you and to others, but it doesn't matter to me. Am I wrong isn't that what these forums were for. For members to discuss the numbers, and to try to understand why things are happening. Not for members to be on a side battling another side.

You might not understand it now, but the forum needs more members like me. People that think outside of the box. That will keep the debate from being so stagnant that only soulless Fanboys find it rousing. Who will keep the discussion from just repeating itself verbatim forever, or until everyone gets bored with their little war.

Does that answer your question? On and before you say something like troll. No I am not a troll I am actually its polar opposite. I go off on my tangents for the benefit of all. Not out of some sense of narcissistic indulgence. I am knocking people out of complacency, and not causing any kind of disruption beyond providing an alternate point of view. So if you can't understand that then I just feel really sorry about that.

You didn't flip the script Dodece, you made sweeping generalizations about people posting in the thread without a shred of proof. The two groups you are talking about could be made of completely different people (not that that would even make you bat an eye).

edit: btw, this thread was doing great until you showed up, thanks for trying to turn another thread into a fanboy war.  The last thing we need.
