No obviously I don't believe that. WHAT! No way no shovelware game can outsell Mario thats just common sense. Maybe the example I used wasn't the best one. What I'm trying to say is, it s waay cheaper to produce shovelware and then Nintendo would save millions of $ making those games instead of making something like Kid Icarus Wii which I want them to make.

You say the DS has more shovelware than the Wii right. You also say nobody complains about it right. Do you know why? It is because the DS has a TON of awesome games first, second, and third party in fact that it kind of just douses the amount of shovelware on the DS anyway. For example, I can walk into a Gamestop looking for a DS game without having a particular game in mind and find a good one in a heartbeat right after I walk in. For Wii . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . ummmm I looked through the whole shelf of Wii games and just couldn't find something. OH! I found a No More Heroes/Red Steel in one bundle for $30. Wow a great deal but im ok I really need to buy gas so i skipped on that. But you probably get my point.

My point is, Nintendo wouldn't save money by making shovelware, because shovelware wouldn't give them the ridiculous profits that their quality games do.

I'm also aware why nobody complains about DS' shovelware. What this means is the real problem isn't the Wii having so much shovelware, but rather the Wii lacking higher quality games. It basically comes back down to third parties not putting in the effort they usually do for the lead console.

No.....it's a combination of both.

Na ah see thats where you fell. Saving money and making money are two different things. Im talking about the money that Nintendo already has stored in the bank. They would definately save money making shovelware. Now whether they would profit more in the long run is another question. I already knew you were aware about the DS and the games thing too. But you do realize that the percentage of shovelware games on the Wii is even higher than the amount the PS2 has, and thats saying something. But yes I do agree with you on the Wii lacking higher quality games.

Well, I guess it depends on how you look at it. From my point of view, I'd say they'd lose potential money by making shovelware instead of quality games. It's all about opportunity cost!

The percentage of shovelware games on the Wii is higher, true! The Wii is more popular and selling more software than the PS2 did, so there has to be more games. Unfortunately, most of them suck, since so much more effort is spent on the HD consoles. It's getting better over time, though it probably won't ever reach "normal" levels. The Wii's successor shouldn't have this problem, though... (theoretically).

true. Sooo wait. When you say Wii's succesor shouldn't have this problem I believe you but go more into detail. Like it will still be the top selling system but more third parties will support it from the start or . . .

Well, I'm hoping more third parties will learn, over the course of this gen, that "casual games" don't equate to "crappy games." EA seems to be on track, for example.

I don't think it necessarily matters if the Wii successor is the top seller, just that third parties won't underestimate its potential. Since there's no reason to think it'd go the way of the GameCube, they shouldn't be late to the party...

Hmm i see. At least we can appreciate the good games on the Wii though. And 2010 looks to be great.

Now that you started talking about the Wii's succesor, you have me thinking about it more. What it'll look like and be like. Nintendo has already expressed interest in Hi Def gaming for their next console so you know its has to come with a Harddrive. And what about the controllers? There should be a thread for this.

Not everyone wants ,Shooting,Platformer or Mario.

Some people like games that us hardcore gamers wouldnt like.

I don't see a problem. The Ninjabread Man sequel is sure to be amazing.
