Forums - Nintendo - (IGN) Castlevania Judgment was a good game.

IGN's Cheers and Tears feature went onto the topic of Wii Fighting games, and CJ made the list. I thought this was notable because many people disregarded the game before it came out, pretending like they knew what the HELL Death Note was. Here's the excerpt:

"And, finally, a pick that's sure to have half of you scrolling down to the Comments box already. Castlevania Judgment was pre-judged by just about every Wii fan to be a disappointment, most people having made up their minds about the title's lack of merit months in advance of its actual release. Those that gave it a chance after its retail debut, though, were pleasantly surprised -- what looked like a misstep for the series at first glance turned out to be a surprisingly polished and fun fighting design.

It's still not going to win over everyone, as design decisions like characters being re-imagined by Death Note's manga artist and a time travel storyline that brought together heroes from all eras of the franchise timeline will remain divisive no matter what. But if you actually push pause on your preconceptions and give it a chance, you may well find yourself having quite a bit of fun -- the game really came together in its finally few months of development, and deserves a second look if you wrote it off after your first impressions."

Of course it was! Unfortunately people hated it just because it wasn't a traditional Castlevania or the art style, but it is a good game.

Go buy it! :)

I think that Castlevania Judgment is a good game. I've had a great time playing it since I've got it.

i don't like it, it feels like all this other dumb down fighter, smash bros is fine being simple and casual, but castlevania, it just don't feel right. and the character design, is not that its death note(eventhough simon looks like light in a gym) its that they are horrible, the old bishonen style used in symphony of the night was perfect, by change it into some weird "cool boy" style, maria looking all loli, dracula looks like a transgender, alucard is no longer a sexy vampire, death is fucked up, nothing feels right.

I still have to try it

It really is fun and quite polished. A solid 7 from me.

This is one of my favorite fighting games ever, i tend to hate 3D fighters because most of them are 2D fighters with updated graphics but terrible gameplay issues i barely like Soul Blade on PSX and Bushido Blade also on PSX, there is also Bloody Roar because of all the cool combos, but Castlevania is really diferent the free roam fighting game i think its the first game to make something like this, the enviroments were great the controls were almost perfect some people say you have to play with the GC controller, but i find the Wiimote perfect for timing your attacks without smashing your own fingers, i actually have serious trouble doing combos with the GC controller on this game

Shanoa rulz! :D "Im the morning sun and i come to vanish this endless darkness"

Nintendo is the best videogames company ever!

Yep, Castlevania Judgment is a real gem. Too bad everyone decided to hate it before it was even out.

its a good game , but it changed EVERYTHING we loved about Castlevania and turned it into a joke.

IE
Dracula is now a complete asshole
Alucard is a whiny kid
Maria is now a Little girl

and they all look like anime and act like anime.

^^ Wasn't Maria always a little witch girl?
