Wrong, Arcade is now upto £140, and the bundles which were at £300 are now at £250 for the PS3. It will provide some boost because the psychological barrier of entry is less, but nothing gigantic

Thats a plausible answer, but hopefully the Slim will narrow the gap significantly and drive the sales for next year.

I would guess with the Arcade increasing to £159.99 and the Pro being discontinued, meeting in the middle at £199.99 for the now standard Elite seems logical.

Someone suggested to me that the retailers take a huge margin on the go to compensate for much more limited sales from those customers in the future (PSN cards)
Oh, and there is certainly no gurantee that the Elite will get a cut, it is stil cheaper than the PS3, and was way underpriced before (in terms of exchange rates and comparitive costs)

Wrong, the 360 Arcade is £119.99 in Tesco's and Asda, saw them today when I went shopping!
I can't believe they actually bumped the price of the Arcade.

all this stuff about prices makes me glad i already have my consoles, ive heard of prices going down, but atm, the 360 and Wii are going up!
