Someone suggested to me that the retailers take a huge margin on the go to compensate for much more limited sales from those customers in the future (PSN cards)

Oh, and there is certainly no gurantee that the Elite will get a cut, it is stil cheaper than the PS3, and was way underpriced before (in terms of exchange rates and comparitive costs)
