I'll say 1 week, not sure about the 2nd one.
One week.
A game I'm developing with some friends:
www.xnagg.com/zombieasteroids/publish.htm
It is largely a technical exercise but feedback is appreciated.
The was selling, what? 150k-200k WW? PS3 was at about 100-130k(low due to Sony getting rid of current models) . Why would it need to triple its sells?
360 showed a perm increase in sells, why wouldn't the PS3?
Prediction:
TGS this year for PS3 will be amazing.
Grandia comes to PSN(PSone classic).
First Versus gameplay this year.

2 weeks, maybe 3. The hype could be totally overblown and it may not even beat Wii on release week, though I think this is unlikely. I'd expect PS3 to beat Wii on release week of Uncharted 2 as well as FF XIII and GT5 release weeks. I hope it'll beat Wii on GoW III release week and R&C: aCiT, but I have my doubts. I think to beat Wii in any given week there will need to be big PS3 sales in Japan.

If I'd be a dad, and out to buy our family's first game console, I would buy a Wii.
Unless market saturation for families with smallish children is felt, or the impact of the New PS3 will be everything the hardcore PS3 fans hope for, the Wii will not have much to fear from initially.
I'd say, the Wii will be outsold for 4 weeks after the New PS3 launches.

in the UK the price drop wont even raise ps3 sales by much its still more than a 360 elite and a huge £70 more than the wii
| Showertea said: How many weeks do you guys think it'll take before the Wii is back to beating the PS3 after the 299$ price cut? Easily by the end of August. |
Fixed for reality's sake
