Forums - Gaming - Serious Question : Why do people like AVGN

He is seriously not funny at all , and keep saying blah blah blah blah "Diarrhea" blah blah blah "Diarrhea" blah blah fucking a goat with a "Diarrhea"  then goes to show some over dramatic acting and acts like the game is too hard like this one.

seriously even a 6 year old can figure it out that you have to be far for the daggers to reach the dragon , he keep acting like kids on Xbox Live with their cursing and than say "Diarrhea" , is that the only thing he can think of? =/

are people that boring to find cursing so funny?

hes "acting" more than actually being pissed off.

Serious answer: because they are fucking stupid.

Because they're entertaining.

Most of the time, he plays a game that I've played or a console that I read about but didn't own. I can laugh because he says the things me and my brother used to say about the game. As long as you don't take him seriously or don't mind a little low budget, low brow humor, he's great!

And look at some of the guy's movie reviews, board game reviews, and such. The Angry Video Game Nerd is actually a very intelligent guy. He just knows his audience and gives us what we want.

BEST ANSWER!

A lot of what he says about those older games are true.

Um, it's not the cursing that makes him popular and likeable (well maybe for a few immature people out there). Its his wit and his delivery, as well as the unique ways he reviews and criticizes games. Also, I think a lot of it has to do with the nostalgic factor, which appeals to a lot of people like me who have played or remember many of these games he talks about. People can relate to his rants which is another factor that makes him as popular as he is. I reccoomend checking out the Powerglove video if you think he's not funny, or the much more recent Plumbers Don't Wear Ties. Two of his funniest vids IMO.
