Ouch... sorry to all the people that were waiting for this one. That is a pretty long delay. I am also sorry for all the gamers who will lose their significants others that week since you'll be too busy playing SSB:B to take them out on Valentine's day.

Well, as I said in the official thread, I don't want it, but I can wait a month. Though the delay is 2 months.

Smash Bros. will have full Wi-Fi multiplayer capabilities. Lots of new levels and many new characters, including Sonic the Hedgehog. A "unique way of sharing between users, even online," according to Iwata---IGN.

I can wait for this.

Nintendo has to get Wii Fit out no later than Feb if they want to get the New Year resolution people.  But it should ship in Jan.  Brawl will ship in Feb.  I think they will want at least a month b/t Brawl and Mario Party and at least 45 days b/t anything and Mario Kart.  Also, why not Mario Baseball in 2nd half of the year?  I mean, this is the 1st we heard about it and they have several announced games that need to come out 1st.  Final Fantasy will also come out next year.  Plus, EA sports might actually have good games next year.  This years Tiger Woods is the best Tiger ever but there is no reason they could not do the same with Madden.  Of course, in Nintendo's eyes, Wii Fit is the biggest game next year.  I wonder how big Wii Music will be?

I just guessed the baseball game for early in the year to coincide withthe baseball season, usually when baseball games come out.

I was not trying to be a jerk but I am trying to adjsut my expectation which had gotten too high.

I still think Disaster and Snimal Crossing have no chance of a 2008 release date.

Nintendo does always have surprises but their biggest games we know about long enough to get bummed by the delay.

On a side note I think the 3rd party contribution will absolutely explode next year.

They were go to look good to you no matter what. If you have waited this long to purchase a Wii then you can wait longer. The game is delayed not canceled.

This shows that Iwata cares about the software. If you guys remember the Legend of Zelda: The WindWaker, for the Cube, was forced to be released before the game was finished. Two dungeons were left off of the game and a fetch quest was included in their place to wrap the game up in time for release. Every Zelda fan complained about the fetch quest.

I'd rather have smash delayed and polished with more characters and more options and more battlefields and a more flesh out online experience than less of everything. Why sacrifice an explosive game for console sales. People will still buy the game. Especially after reading the impression over at IGN. That left me feeling pumped. Wii mote classic style.
