Can I have your Wii first?
-Obligatory- Maybe this is the September surprise?
Sorry couldn't help it =P Just makes me laugh when people say that.
I'm thoroughly pissed. This was my number game for this year...I actually had a 30 person tournament lined up a few days after Christmas. Now that won't happen.
Galaxy is still going to rock, and now it's the number one Wii game by elimination for the year...and this will allow me to save for GH3 and Zack and Wiki. So the bright side to Smash's delay is me saving money...which isn't really that much of a bright side in my opinion.
Oh well...we've lived through 4 months of Dojo updates...we'll live through 4 more.

Bet with disolitude: Left4Dead will have a higher Metacritic rating than Project Origin, 3 months after the second game's release. (hasn't been 3 months but it looks like I won :-p )

Ouch, but I'll survive it and I understand why it's being delayed. There are plenty of other games for me to play right now.

This is a rough one. The rational side of me says it is just fine and may only improve my enjoyment of the game. However delays that move a game to the next calender year are dangerous. Brawl was close to being a launch game and got bumped from Q1 to Q2 to Q4. If it really does show up early Feb I will be a little surprised. I went from thnking that next year would be full of surprises to thinking it will be full of delays.
I think Wii fit will get bumped to Feb pushing smash to April, as they will want to launch the mario baseball game in march. Early Q2 will see the download staition in the US and Wii ware if we are lucky. Mario Party 9 hould land about that time pushing Mario Kart to TBD. My guess is that will land for the holidays in November.
So people will probably flame me for loosing heart but I was a firm beiever that Nintendo had some great surprise things up their sleeves to drop in 2008 (Animal Crossing, Pikmin, 1st Part RPG etc.). I will love MK and Smash but those are all we get next year.
Final* Word on Game Delays:
The game will not be any better or include more content then planned. Any commnets that say so are just PR hogwash to make you feel better for having to wait.
Delays are due to lack of proper resources, skill, or adequate planning by the developer.
Do be thankful that they have enough respect for you to delay the game and maintain its intended level of quality.

Any ideas what this means for the EU release? I was hoping for Q1 but if the US is only getting it in Feb I think it will be a while away yet.
I really doubt MK and Smash are all we get next year. For one thing Disaster is still set for release next year. I suggest you wait until post holidays to worry about what we get next year. Nitendo is very secretive and usually doesn't release game info that early.

I know. I think it is just the excitement from yesterday's annoucment I was primed for dissappointment.

MK and Smash all we get? That's impossible...I'm quite certain AC will be out by the end of the year, maybe Pikmin, plenty of 3rd party games.
You guys don't seem to realize the sheer amount of games that gets announced at E3 typically, then released by the end of the year.
So now I have Left 4 Dead and Smash to look forward to early next year.
