Forums - Nintendo - Gamespot: Call of Duty MW Wii Preview

Well the guys at Gamespot had the chance to play the game and .... eh?

The original Modern Warfare is coming to the Wii, and as we found out in Cologne, it's an impressively faithful reproduction.

Finally, the game also uses an upgraded version of the engine that has powered previous Call of Duty games on the Wii. Most notably, the textures are of a higher resolution than ever before, while the particle effects such as explosions have also been improved. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare will arrive on the Wii in November 2009, and we hope to bring you a first hands-on soon.

......The recent screenshots were supposedly from a beta sample.

What GS has could be the near final product.

That would be quite the achievement.

I'm waiting until the final product. I've seen too many games that don't quite live up in previews but look awesome on release.

A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.

Plus, just for the hell of it: Kelly Brook at the 2008 BAFTAs

Sounds promising. I'll wait for the reviews though, I remain pessimistic.

But which reviews? Some sites just aren't reliable for fair Wii reviews anymore. Often a game is scored more on how hardcore they think it is than its own merits. Even positive reviews. Some Madworld reviews gave the impression they were scoring it high more because they thought it was a hardcore game than a good game.

Basically we can't rely on Metacritic to see if a Wii game is any good. There are places, but not that.

I agree, that's why I seldomly take notice the the score of a game. But there are some sites who at least give good information about a game, like IGN and sometimes GameTrailers. I disregard their scores, but pay attention to what is in the game and what not.
