Lol but why would you buy a laptop? You might as well buy a fully functioning desktop PC instead of a PS3.

Desktop PC vs PS3 would make more sense where this guy is heading.
Plus most people already have a PC anyway.

If you already own a desktop and then buy a PS3 you will then be able to have your Hulu and Netflix on your PS3 though.

You have to already own a desktop though at least right? How else would you be reading this article?

Well, you could be forking over that $40+/month on the IO internet bill to run a router in your home so you get internet on your $400 iPhone.

iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.

Currently playing:

Final Fantasy VI (iOS), Final Fantasy: Record Keeper (iOS) & Dragon Quest V (iOS)

Got a retro room? Post it here!

Well, then, I can join in with you guys in wholeheartedly flaming this ignorant article.

NO NO, NO NO NO.

By the way, why would they even waste their time telling you to buy a $1000 laptop when a $200-300 BD Player can do Netflix streaming as well?

That would have made much more sense in a BD player comparison.

They weren't doing a BD player comparison...they were going for a new World Record in the Guiness Book...worst article in BD player comparison of all time...Portable vs. Not Portable. Battery vs. AC. $299 vs. $1000.

@ZEN

Yea it is a cheaper version, but hey its smaller, and it uses much less power.

Sony probably makes more money selling Sony laptops than PS3 hardware, so everybody should be happy about this. Cnet is trying to make Sony more money! ;-p

starcraft: "I and every PS3 fanboy alive are waiting for Versus more than FFXIII.
Me since the games were revealed, the fanboys since E3."

Skeeuk: "playstation 3 is the ultimate in gaming acceleration"

The article is biased for sure can't deny that,I don't think CNET is biased though I've seen them call out MS on there shit also,It's just this guy who gives cnet's website a bad name.

Holy crap. Glad my fellow VGCharters keep up on this stuff. I've never been to Cnet, but everything I see from them looks unbealivably biased.

lol, it's still cheap. I'm just saying that the phat is still a better choice, because its proven in all the areas that matter, and the slim might not live up to the hardware quality of the phat. Since it's almost impossible to have better dependability than a new 80gb phat with the smaller chipset, then it can't ever be "better" and now that the phat is discontinued, it will also be worth much more than the slim in the future. It's also more expensive to make, because there is more of it, and lets face it, that matte outside was used to save money. The slim was made to maintain the PS3 while also manufacturing the console as cheaply as possible. Why is it so out of the realm of possibility that it might have launch bugs. Won't the slim in 5 years be better built than the slim at launch? The phat is as good as it can get already, and the slim has no real advantage that can't be overcome with a small hd upgrade.

NO NO, NO NO NO.

To me, its more reasonable to compare this laptop to a good stationary PC with Blu-ray. I'd take the stationary any day by the way.
Its a strange article and a queer comparison, the outrage I see here is not "OMG hatez the PS3!" but rather "why the fuck are they comparing a stationary living room games console to a laptop?"
Its almost like comparing a cellphone to an MP3 player, they share some functions but it makes no sense setting up some kind of battle of decision between them.
