Forums - General - who here hate the movies of steven seagal and Jean-Claude Van Damme.

After my father left his homeland and came to America, he along with other natives LOVED the Jean-Claude Van Damme movies, and I liked them as well.

Double Impact, Blood Sport, (he was Guile in the Street Fighter movie, and Guile is my favorite character), and my one of my Top 3 favorite action films of all-time, Cyborg.

When I watch Van Damme films, I don't care too much for story; action films aren't really supposed to delve into that too much, unless they are boring.

But back to Cyborg. It came out in 1989 and was 80 minutes with a nonexistent story. But my God was it a great film! The score and the villain (epitome of a villain) and the fact that everyone was pretty much named after a guitar was awesome. I remembered that film when I was a kid, then luckily rented it from Blockbuster 2 years ago.

Steven Seagal.... I only remember Hard To Kill. His movies were always pretty wack, and his wife ALWAYS DIES!

I can't stand the pretty boy ballet dancer posing as a martial artist known as Jean-Claude Van Damme. Bloodsport is the only one of his movies that I can watch without wanting to vomit.

Steven Seagal, on the othe hand, I like. Especially his movies that have three words in the title. Above the Law, Hard To Kill, Out For Justice, Marked For Death, and Under Siege Two are all great. Seagal can eat a meatball sandwich, break your arm, interrogate you, and put on five pounds all at the same time. This is what makes him a marvelous actor. Also, he had a kick ass looking pony-tail.

I wouldn't say I have anything approaching a psychotic hatred of either man. They are more like the average pro wrestler in their acting skills. In other words all the characters they portray which are all the same guy really are overdone. What was that Steven your a man of peace who just so happened to have been a ex some military special force member. In other words all the movies are fairly cliche.

Both have a couple decent movies, and that is it. I'll never respect Van Damme for bitching out of being the Predator.

For posting this I will jump in the air, do the splits and kick you in the face 3 times.

Segal is a legitimate martial artist, the reason his punches and kicks look dumb is because his style (aikido) really doesn't use them. It's all about using your opponents momentum against them. Even all of the arm breaking is secondary, it's almost strictly self defense, hurt the person and get away. That being said he is VERY good at it.

Seagal is pure win.

Under Siege is one of the best films EVER made.

can anyone imagine steven seagel doing a comedy.

Chuck Norris can kill them both with 3 fingers

I used to hate them in the early 90's but since then i've realized they're nothing to hate because both actors and their movies are seen as a big joke.

Time Cop was okay. Van Damme always found a reason to do splits in his movies, though.
