Forums - Sony - Two Heavy Rain gamepla videos contains full of Awesomness

still look like QTEfest to me, good looking(not the best looking game aside of characters).

interaction - you have to walk to certain objects and people to trigger some interactions by QTEs and all fights are in QTEs

you have minimal exploration option - if you will be able to go out of everyplace without doing anything then i can admit that there is exploration cause irght now it looks like escape-the-room game.

about puzzles - there's still no puzzles to me. you play where is waldo for 6year olds basically in that garage and it's irrelevant to game cause you can either walk ther and look for QTEs to trigger or fuck it and go straight to the fat guy in junkyard.

good adventure game with action elements simillar to Heavy Rain - first Tomb Raider game. to me Heavy Rain is still interactive movie where gameplay is not the main aspect of a game, but the story and i got tired of those games long time ago after Black Dahlia. to me it really have to have gameplay mechanics important and be entertaining at it to be worth spending more than 20$. so yeah i probably will get HR when i will buy ps3(cause well i'm getting it for exclusive games and region free games), but i won't be getting it for more than 20$ - it's not worth more to me.

Heavy Rain marks the rebirth of the adventure gameinteractive movie genre into the HD generation, and by God it is something magical!

fixed, cause that's not an adventure game.

An adventure game is a video game in which the player assumes the role of protagonist in an interactive story that is driven by exploration and puzzle-solving instead of physical challenges such as combat.

by wiki.

this post was full of shit
I can understand people saying Heavy Rain is not good or not for them

but no considering Heavy Rain as an adventure game ... is a bit senseless

"In video game terms, RPGs are games that involve a form of separate battles taking place with a specialized battle system and the use of a system that increases your power through a form of points.

Sure, what you say is the definition, but the connotation of RPGs is what they are in video games." - dtewi

Did you just called Tomb Raider an adventure game? - Your game collection speaks the story of a veteran but your words here betray you.

DO YOU KNOW WHAT AN ADVENTURE GAME IS?

Okr was even kind enough to point out to me that you do indeed own adventure games in your collection (even Monkey Island) and should therefore know full well what an adventure game is. Well if your idea of an adventure game is Tomb Raider... it just goes to show that one should never underestimate the 'stupid' within.

To repeat what I said in an earlier post:

Its like he never played an adventure game in his life (which he probably hasn't) and thought games like banjo & kazooie are adventure games because of the genre name being a misnomer. So off he went to google about adventure game, saw the first friggin sentence in an article on wiki which validated his incorrect conclusion (because hey! There's a world to explore and puzzle to solve in banjo & kazooie!) and suddenly he is Einstein on the theory of relativity with his smartass 'fixit' quote. Fuck the people who actually play games from the genre! They don't know shit!

Here is one Extra for the people who think its a Movie and not a game.

This third video you posted doesn't change anything. I've watched this several times because the grafix are good and the atmosphere is very nice. But fact is that it's an interactive movie. Yes, you can call it a game too, I don't mind. But interactive movie is the most accurate descritption in my opinion, but there's nothing wrong with that. For a budget price I would probably get this game (say, the price of two DVD movies - $30-40).

The camera is fixed and all the scenes are very static (similar to MGS4 cut-scenes). From a gameplay mechanic point of view it's just like the conversation game play in Mass Effect - you typically have three or four dialogue choices which make a particular scene branch off in different directions, but that's it. The little walking around in that grocery store, just like the movement in all the other levels in this game, is only cosmetic.

Did you watch the gameplay where you get caught by the robber, and you can engage in the right (or wrong dialogue with him)? And as a result you could save the robber's life (or as the Private Eye, Shelby?, said helped him not 'fuck up his life')? I'll bet you that if you save the robber's life, he'll play some role in the future.

Or what'll happen if you just hid and let the shop keeper get shot? Could we then break into the back door and discover even more than we could have by stopping the robbery?

you know, sometimes i just want to ignore, but... did you just watch how both videos are different?

the first was that the robber left unharmed and the second is the robber was taken down, and if you are foolish enough you can die but the storyline will continue.

its not like "you typically have three or four dialogue choices which make a particular scene branch off in different directions, but that's it" , no , everything you do changes the plot. its not just change the scene, it changes the game.

Ironic cause they hyped Alan Wake for the same reason, but turned out to be a shooter.
