have you played any Silent hill before?

I disagree. Silent Hill's story and atmosphere is dated compared to that of Silent Hill 2, and this feels more inline with that. Also this one seems to have a more hunting down atmosphere, and focuses quite a bit on survival compared to the first Silent Hill. I don't see how this feels like the movie either. The cutscenes feel like SH3's though, which I could do without. None of these games feel like the movie at all. The movie was something else entirely imo.

The other Silent Hills had combat. This one doesn't.
A game without combat isn't even really a game. It's like, some kind of non-game. Even Tetris allowed you to murder entire rows of blocks if you lined them up right.

Obviously, we do not share taste in music. :(
And a well cut trailer is always better than a badly cut one, no matter the count.

The reason people loved SH2 was because the story was deep and thought provoking. It rivaled the best in film and literature. The past few SH games have fallen far short of that and it seems the developers are again choosing to focus on gameplay over narrative which is quite a pity. SH should never have been western developed, now its just all about the money.

Well this game is a retelling of the original game with more focus on the fear which horror games have lacked A LOT this gen. So if you loved the story of the original they can't butcher it that bad and hell they may even improve it, I've heard nothing but good things about it myself so I'm not worried about the story side of things, I'm just waiting on more videos, though if the game released tomorrow I'm already sold so it might be best for them to stop while they're ahead :P
