Forums - Sales - Expected Sales in Sept: PS3 > 360 > Wii

GH5 and Beatles Rockband will help the Wii. Nintendo is more secretive than Sony/Microsoft too. They could surprise everyone with a price drop if they felt it was needed.

What makes you think GH5 and Rockband wont help the PS3? Its only $50 more than a wii, and you get a blu-ray player..

I just hope sony doesn't lose too much money dropping the price like that. Also I do think the slim will give a huge boost at the start, but it will probably slow down after a while. This will make it competitive with the 360 again, but with the Wii I don't think so. I agree that there is a big chance it will outsell the Wii next month but after that, it could be anything.

Btw, the PS3 never outsold the Wii in the US, according to NPD. The 360 did it once when Halo 3 launched two years ago.

Currently playing on PS3: God of War III

Currently playing on Xbox360: Final Fantasy XIII

Currently playing on NDS: Chrono Trigger

Guys lets not get carried away here. PS3 sold under 80,000 units for the August 8 week. Should be a little higher for the August 15 week with Madden.

But $400 to $300 is a 25% price cut. There is alot of pent up demand, but PS3 sales probably will only double at most for the August 22 week since the price drop is for half a week. It will likely stay flat the next week. That gets you to 160,000/week. A lot better than 80,000. But still alot lower than Wii. I'm not convinced it will double either - PS3 stock seems to be drying up so that Sony can push the Slim. A Best Buy ad showed the Slim coming September 6 so there may not be adequate PS3 stock til then, but some of the initial demand will wear off in the immediate aftermath of the price cut.

No, I think it'll be PS3 > Wii > 360. ODST won't really move systems. The PS3 is virtually the same price as the Wii now so I think it'll come out on top for next month.

??? 299= 249 now?

Nope, the Wii will still be greater than all. But it is good news to Sony fans and Final Fantasy fans. The console is cheap enough to all them to pick up a PS3 and Play Final Fantasy XIII whenever it launches. This may hurt the Xbox 360 sales when Final Fantasy XIII is released. I thought that when Final Fantasy XII launched in the West that the Xbox 360 sales would increase and be above the PS3. But I'm not so sure now. Then again the Xbox 360 has a higher userbase in the west.

I definately disagree, the Wii is going to be loosing market share fast, specifically in a place called JAPAN, were TALES OF VERSPERIA is coming out on the PS3 during that time. Europe I see ps3 going lunatic.. the U.S I dont know..

That game is a port and is available for a cheaper price on the Xbox 360. Secondly, bundles for Monster Hunter maybe back in retail. Even if they are not, I do not see Tales of Vesperia pushing the PS3 sales very much.

If Nintendo is successful at the moment, it’s because they are good, and I cannot blame them for that. What we should do is try to be just as good.----Laurent Benadiba

Well that's assuming Nintendo will have no answer to this move whatsoever. Of course even without an answer it would be quite difficult for them to make up that ground anyways. Not to mention that's a lot of movement for the 360 as well. I mean it's plausible considering how much less Wii has been doing lately but it would still be quite difficult.

Also what might turn off some consumers is the look and the fact it still doesnt have backwards compability. But i can see a major increase if M$ doesnt retalitate ....which obivously they will...

You know what I meant, I said "virtually".

Well, the Wii still has New Super Mario Bros. Wii, dunno why people are forgetting that beast.

So, I think it will most prbably be Wii>Ps3>360

With ps3 and Wii being fairly close.

Edit: NSMB isn't releasing in spetmber is it? Oh well, still sticking to my prediction.
