I don't think it will be delayed. I think Nintendo's setting up a way not to cannibalize sales of their big properties while giving both regions two powerhouse games before the end of the year to really make the headlines.

We in North America get the Super Mario Galaxy/Super Smash Bros. Brawl combo which brings us a Nintendo iconic property that will bring in Nintendo-faithful and new audience alike and an industry monster that will strengthen influence for the "core" bringing in Nintendo-ites and those from the Microsoft & Sony camps.

(wow what a run-on sentence that was)

Those in Japan get the Super Mario Galaxy/Wii Fit combo with the first having the same impact it does in North America and a new world order of videogaming type of title that really speaks to the new audience setting the stage for its inception here later after the New Year.

So I think Nintendo's pairing boundary-crossing Galaxy with one title that speaks to the so-called "core" gameplayer for one region and then pairing that boundary-crosser with one title that speaks to the new audience.

USA/Canada/Mexico/and friends = Crosser/Core

Japan = Crosser/New Audience

And then the next year they will bring the other to the other side.

For USA Brawl is a must have for XMas season so trust me it won't be delayed.

And in Japan they want Wii Fit to build its rep in Japan first where it will build best before bringing to other regions.

Also Wii Fit in USA after New Years makes perfect sense since it will be after all of that holiday feasting that went on since Thanksgiving.

Then Brawl in Japan after New Years to give another rocket boost to the charts for the new year.

I actually saw this coming. It makes more sense to launch Fit in Japan before year's end and then bring it here later. And it makes sense to have Brawl here first and bring it there later.

That's the way I see it anyhow.

I don't know if it's going to be delayed, but the changing of the release date onthe official website means that SOMETHING is definitely happening.

"There's still a little more development to be done... I'm hoping to complete it without incident."

Here's to hoping that it is completed without incident and comes out on the 3rd!

(I think it'll get delayed a little though, but still out before Christmas.)

I could wait until January 1st, after that I will meltdown because of exitement. Screw sales I want the game now!.

I think Smash will be delayed. Third party characters have now been included, Snake and Sonic. This may mean that other third party developers may want their famous character to appear in Brawl. It could lead to more sales for the games that the character is featured in. For example, Capcom may request to have Megaman included in Brawl. People who have never played a Megaman game may use him in Brawl and develop an affinity to him. This could lead them to purchase Megaman games.

The delay could also be because Nintendo is trying to get more Japanese people to use the internet by providing resources to help them connect to the internet. Or it could be to flesh out the online components of the game. I still think it's to add more characters because of third party request. This could be unlockable characters or clones.

Remember, Nintendo is being more open to 3rd parties like never before and desires a more fruitful relationship with them.

Smash Bros. is garnering a huge following.  Having your character in the game puts it on the map.  Look at Kid Icarus and Pit.  Since being announced for Brawl, how many do you think of snagged that game off the Virtual Console?

Being a Smash character is great exposure that lots of franchises could benefit from.

Pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeease put Zero in this game, Capcom! The Megaman Zero Franchise has always been Nintendo exclusive, so why not put Zero in it? Plus, Zero is awesome! If Zero is in this game, the playstation 3 isn't my favorite console anymore. Yes, I love Capcom and Zero that much!
