Wow thats a huge difference in the GT PSP.

They do it for obvious reasons, there are graphics nuts out there and they're counting on them hyping the game massively. Must be such a dissapointment when it's such a massive difference.

It's funny really, because as long as the graphics are above average, it doesn't enhance your experience by much having steller graphics, Left 4 Dead is a prime example, doesn't need fancy graphics/

Hmm, I know a lot of this. I remember getting my new rig and wanting to crank up Oblivion to the max to behold those awesome visuals the promo shots bespoke. Guess what? It didn't happen, the graphics, even on max with a patch allowing both Bloom and HDR and all the good shit at once it wasn't even close. Bullshot indeed.
Crysis was even worse, the final product is miles away from the promo shots, even running on the craziest rigs with everything on max (and 15-20 FPS...) some of the textures are horrible (trees, canopy, some walls, rocks and other brush) it is no where near the promo shots.
Interesting read selnor, but I'm quite sure most of us in here already know that promo shots are usually heavily tampered with!

The problem with using GT as an example is the fact that we know and have seen videos of GT psp, and it looks good no matter what.

What I hate is those CGI movies that looks amazing ala WOW and looks nothing like the real game.

If this article has taught me anything it's that if I buy Uncharted 2 Drake's buns will pale in comparison to the screenshots, so no thanks
