Although I dont have the specified 50 posts, I thought an experience I had with my Halo 3 edition xbox360 would be of interest.

One day when went to use it, it wasn't working and when I opened the dvd drive i found out why, ants had moved in. Not just a few, but a whole damn colony, there were lava and everything, I ended up opening it up and voiding all warranties and vacuuming the damn things out of it, after I put it back together it worked, but wasn't reading disks, so I had to open the disc drive up, clean ants out of there and get lens cleaner and clean the laser. After that it worked again and still works to this day, despite the ant invasion.

Lol, I've actually heard about something like that happening to a 360 a while back.

I guess the 360's so sweet it attracts ants!!

wow!! the failure rate will be high,
I got a 60GB pro 4 or 5 months old still working fine but I don't use it often

Probably, but you have to remember that the community here is not representative of the general public, and plays their consoles far more than the average person does.

First one, bought March 2006 - lasted until August 2006.  RROD - exchanged at Best Buy under warranty.

Second August 2006-March 2009  E27 error, I think it was.  It wasn't the on everyone gets that's covered.  They also repaired my drive while it was in because it was going.  Had to pay for this repair.

Can't we all just get along and play our games in peace?

Aww, I guess my joke and time was wasted.

I thought it would be funny........

I bought a 20GB refurbished one in october of '08 and surprisingly, I haven't had any problems with it. Another friend of mine has had his for almost 2 years and his hasn't broken down either as far as I know. It'll never happen to me though ; )

Alright, I'll start with this!

Hehe, I got my little brother to help me a little bit with this one.

Anyways, I got a launch 20GB model and it died on me in Mid 2007. I got the replacement model from my RROD and this one died on me Novemeber of 2008 due to a crappy video card. That wasn't in warranty.

So, I traded it in at Gamestop on Black Friday and bought a used one. It's been working fine ever since.

So, two 360s have died and I'm on my 3rd.

How did you get VC achivements?

Xbox 360 supports Bluray Konfirmed!

I have two 360's; A Core system built in late 2006 that RROD'ed on me, but I fixed it myself. Pretty easy to do, but there's no warranty on it though. Xenon version I believe. (It's sitting in it's box in case I ever want to use it or whatever, though no hdmi on it)

I also have an Elite 360 built in early 2008 (Falcon) that I've had absolutely no problems with since I bought it.

2 Xbox 360 1 pro and 1 elite i have it since august 2008 never died on me yet finger cross

I own 7 x 360's... 1 RE5 Red Elite, 2 Pros, 3 Arcades, 1 Unknown from Microsoft...

I have now had three RRoDs... Two last year and one recently... All were replaced on warranty, and in some sort of shipping fiasco on Microsoft's side they accidently shipped me an extra one when I hhad to ship the first two in, otherwise I would have 6 right now...
