Forums - Sony - Monster Hunter 3 PS3 gone from Capcom site

Nintendo released one of their big guns Metroid3 and it did nothing. While Halo3 pushed the 360 past the wii the 360 BEAT the wii in sales. Nintendo's big guns are a mere water gun compared to what PS3 has coming in 08.

Halo pushed the 360 past the wii for one week....I wouldn't exactly say it beat it in anything...

To tell the truth, it's been three consecutive weeks already. Just saying.

EDIT - Oops, you meant worldwide?

Metroid really isn't a "Big gun" it's just a good first party title with a legacy that goes back quite a bit with devoted fans. The "Big guns" are Zelda, Mario and Smash bros and they're coming or out(Zelda but there's a new one coming around sometime it's about 2 years in development.) Smash Bros melee sells VERY well and signs point to yes on Brawl selling very well. Mario Galaxy will sell well, Mario Kart good seller. Wii fit will sell well wether it deserves too or not.

I also notice you have to go into a time period where Nintendo has all of 2 or 3 games announced(2008) to even dillude yourself that the PS3 has a better arsenal to come.

Resident Evil 5 and DMC 4 are still for the PS3 ... but its a multiconsole release :( I can say 2 things : Capcom : only money , no loyalty
SE : they know who made them famous... really famous
Konami : they are possibly the most loyal PS supporters
Namco : as long as Tekken 6 is a PS3 exclusive ... they are OK

wouldn't capcom be loyal to nintendo due to all the NES games they made back in the day

As naznatips said, the only platform listed is Wii
Official Capcom Press Release

Wow... it does sound exclusive. I'm sort of in shock...

Now on that top 5 list, there are only 2 exclusive PS3 titles. One of which is FF, which has lots of spin-offs including some Wii variety ones.

MGS4 - last bastion for the PS3?

Indeed; If I were Microsoft (or Bill Gates) I'd pay some serious money to nab MGS4. And does anyone else feel that Nintendo just stole both Microsoft's (Halo 3) and Sony's (with the amazing 2008 lineup) thunder? I mean, everyone was like "hey Wii has a good lineup with SMG, SSBB, MP3,etc in 2007 but after that what else?". Nintendo seems even stronger in 2008 now... Scary stuff.

You're kidding right? Nintendo has the weakest lineup of the 3 in 2008 (well I guess SSBB will help if it's delayed in North America until next year) but so far the 360 has about 160 quality titles announced, the PS3 about 150 and the Wii about 55... So it's not like Monster Hunter 3, Mario Basebase (or whatever it's called), and some budget Wiiware titles are going to suddenly change all that. I mean feel free to gloat about Monster Hunter 3, but lets not get carried away.

I agree, Legend. Obviously pulling something like Monster Hunter to the Wii is very good news, and clearly the Wii's lineup isn't quite as fully announced (especially in comparison to the PS3) -- so perhaps one day, things will look different. But for now, the Wii's lineup is noticably weaker than the 360 or PS3's lineups are.

Again, to quiet the objections: with each game that's announced for the Wii, this becomes less and less true. I think it's entirely possible that the Wii will have as good a lineup, all told, as the 360 or PS3 do, but that won't be true unless and until more games are announced. I personally expect the Wii's lineup to look a LOT better in 4 months than it does now, but I also expect it to still have at least a slightly less stellar lineup than the other two consoles all the way through next year.

Don't forget, a year ago the 2007 PS3 lineup looked incredibly good. A few delays, under performing titles, all the sudden the best 2007 lineup wound up being lackluster at best.

Absolutely, that's possible. Also, major Wii titles seem to be announced at a rather rapid pace at the moment. Which is why I said for now, it's silly to argue with Legend: the Wii has a noticably worse lineup for the upcoming year. That absolutely could change in the future, but the future isn't now.
