It's always been like that for nintendo- they produce great games but their third party games are often less than satisfactory

| Dodece said: When it comes to games like those there really can't be any debate that they aren't worthy of being on your console. They make gamers cautious about purchasing games, and no matter how much the licensing fee may be. Your probably losing yourself money with your low to nonexistent standards. I feel bad for the guy, and I feel bad for the people that actually bought or had to play those games. |
Weird, some of us actually enjoyed (comment section
) a game in there. But what would we know, we only played it.
@Smeags
That would be the game he gave a 5/10, and that Metacritic has listed at 54. Well to that I say there is no accounting for taste, but seriously he did say the game had some positives. Though think of it like this. How much better the game might have been if the manufacturer said your just not making our standards. Do you think the developer would have just tossed it into the can, or would they have gone back and put more work into it.
I personally wager that higher standards would make for unarguably better games. The game you mentioned could have probably been better. A couple more months could have seen a much better product in your hands.
@Dodece
It would be foolish to suggest that more time, effort, & cold hard cash would hinder any game's development, but that doesn't change the fact that despite the game's flaws (don't get me wrong, the game had flaws) myself and other gamers here sincerely enjoyed the game.
You make some interesting points; it wasn't your first two paragraphs that I had an issue with, but I was just irked by your final two paragraphs. All I'm saying is that you don't have to worry about this ol' gamer.
There are loads of problems with quality standards. The first is that how good a game is can't be known until it is completed. By then developers have spent money. This does include big HD games that turn out bad. That would be worse than anything Nintendo did in their old policy days.
Another is that not everyone will have the same standards. Metacritic can't be a gauge anymore, with the reviews coming across more as fanboy whining some of the time.
A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.
Plus, just for the hell of it: Kelly Brook at the 2008 BAFTAs
Is it just me, or, is listening to this guy pretty much subjecting yourself to torture?

Okay, I stomached about 10 seconds before turning that off. Why can't people realize that their voice is not suited for actually being heard by people? If you have such a horrid voice that it makes people's ears bleed you should just do reviews in writing instead. Good lord.
ugh.. this voice
and he seems to think he's funny
some people should just be baned from my interwebz
