Forums - Sales - Will the Wii lose again?

Is leo on the Sony payroll? Like, do they pay him every time they sell a PS3? I've never seen somebody gain so much joy from the possibility of possibly watching a company sell more of a product.

22k this week in japan.. wtf is going on over there? If nintendo doesnt shape up by november... expect Sony to realy make a comeback..

this is not meant to offend you but please take a look at PS2 September-October numbers between 2001 and 2007. It was barely above a 30k average in those months.

The Wii is in a usual September-October situation, as is the PS3. What is really crazy is that Nintendo tends to release it´s big guns in November and Sony in December --> for Sony consoles November numbers are often as low as September and October numbers, but for Nintendo November numbers are nearly double (or higher) of the October numbers. Because Nintendo doesn´t release any big games in September-October, the drop in hardware sales is bigger than for Sony consoles.

well, based on the initial report from famitsu, it appears that i was wrong and 360 will beat Wii two weeks straight WW.

In fact with the surge again this week and the drop again in Japan, 360 may even top Wii for the month (sept) in NA.

yeah cause 10000 is a bigger number than 20000, oh wait... anyway, frankly I hope the 360 continues to sell roughly equally with the wii worldwide, better competition equals more effort to make appealing products, which results in more great games for the consumer

I HAVE A DOUBLE DRAGON CAB IN MY KITCHEN!!!!!!

NOW A PUNISHER CAB!!!!!!!!!!!!!

 My expectations worldwide for next week:

Wii:

Japan: 21k

Americas: 90k

Other: 70k

Xbox 360:

Japan: 3.5k

Americas: 100k

Others: 50k (?)

So that´s 181k Wii´s sold and 153k Xbox 360´s.... I am not sure though, are there any indications for this weeks numbers I didn´t read?

@Louie, yeah, there is definitely no way Wii will lose 3 weeks in a row WW. Still pretty impressive for one game.

Yipyup, it's called Halo 3. It caused a momentary spike in 360 sales. Wii will be dominating come XMAS.

Im talking about the price cut in oct 17th, and the 40gb release in november in japan.

@leo-j

I totally agree, I think the price drop could take the Ps3 OVER wii for one week

@Soriku

Yes MH3 may be there

but you can;t ignore

FF XIII which should be released near it

Now which one will steal the hype.....

it's not hard
