Halo & GTA4

For me....KZ2 takes the cake easily. When I picked up my PS3 I ran out and bought KZ2 mainly because of the unstoppable retarded hype train that this site and many others made it out to be.

Boy was it a letdown. Decent to average FPS, with a great coat of paint.

Halo series takes the cake imo.

God of War entire series(especially Chains of Olympus),
GTA4,
FF7,
FF Tactics,
Uncharted and probably Uncharted 2,
Resistance entire series,
Call of Duty 4 and probably Modern Warfare 2 as well,
new Prince of Persia,
MGS4,
Killzone entire series(especially first 2 games on ps2 and psp),
Ratchet and Clank as a platformer since it's hardly a platformer,
LBP gameplaywise - awesome level editor and just plain wrong gameplay thanks to uber realistic physics,
Gran Turismo entire series since PD didn't do anything aside making better graphics since GT1 on psx and it's still "Real Driving Simulator" and "definitive racer" to them, sony and playstation fanboys eventhough all those games are subpar to most pc racing sims released 10 years ago.

Well when I read the title of this thread I thought to myself Halo 3.
Many are referencing 'hype' as the reason their choice game was overrated.
However, I don't see that as the definition of overrated.
To me overrated means that the game is given higher reviews or grades than it deserves.
After thinking some more I would add a couple to the list

- Halo 3 is overrated but Halo 1 is a great game that got good reviews.
- GTAIV is overrated but GTA3 and Vice City are great games with good reviews
- God of War 2 is overrated but God of War 1 is a great game with good reviews

This is all just my opinion, the games aren't 'bad' just not nearly as good as the reviews made them out to be.... hence 'overrated' :)

It's funny how all the Sony Fanboys tell that Halo 3 is overated... and all the MS Fanboy tell that Kilzone 2 is overated :)
For my part, I think the GTA series is overated. The GTA4 had a lot of perfect scores in review and not deserved that.

Yeah that about sums up the campaign for me. Had I not bought it for $10 + a game trade in I would have been pissed.

bioshock, when my xbox 360 eat up the disk I wasn't sad at all
