What if, and this is strictly hypothetical, Sony didn't announce a price cut or a PS3 slim at GamesCom? What do you think that would mean for the PS3 in the distant and not-so-distant future? Forget about rumors and evidence, depleting stocks, increased orders, etc., just for the purposes of this thread.

I know I've been a bit of a troll these last few days. Sorry about that. In this thread, I'm not trying to be provocative, I'd just like to know what people think.

What if they don't announce either the slim or the price cut at TGS?

All hype would shift towards TGS.

The ps3 would probably continue it's slow decline sales, falling further and further behind the 360/Wii and slowly losing more and more mindshare with mainstream gamers.

Luckily that probably won't happen. :P

Alot of people would probably be pissed given everything that has shown up on the webz, but alot of the focus would shift towards TGS, since it is in Sony's backyard it may make even more sense to reveal everything there. But there will be a huge meltdown that is for sure, I would be one of them since I strongly B_3_L_I_E_V_E that something big is going to happen at GDC/GamesCom this year.

I think a lot of people will be disappointed. Sony has to lower the price. They have already sold through at the current pricing level. It's time to bring in the $300 console buyers.

Yeah I've already seen that,  there is already a thread on here that shows a 249 euro PS3 in Italy I think.   Along with some outragous bundles

I wouldn't give a rat's ass about a price cut personally. All I want is for them to come out and announce that GT5 is this year and step out of the stage for all I care.
