Forums - Nintendo - No price cut for the Wii and Wii's successor is in progress said Iwata

Iwata saying he expects NSMBWii to hit 10 Million sold in a maximum of 5 months says a couple of things to me.

1. He expects that the multiplayer nature of it will keep it at the very top of the charts for the whole of that time due to word of mouth.

2. There will be a huge advertising campaign for this title.

3. A bundle is possible for the holidays.

Pretty sure the first two are going to happen (though I don't know if the marketing will be 'huge' in comparison to some other games like Halo or whatnot).  The third however, I don't think is going to happen.  WHat would they bundle it with?  And I don't think they need to bother at this point.

Six upcoming games you should look into:

Wii really needs $149 and Zelda 2010 and one more great game and I will buy it. But maybe I will buy at $199...

He said nothing but what was clear for everybody. People don't buy a console just to look at or to collect dust... Anyway, I think they should consider a price cut but maybe after hollidays when sales will be slowing...
By the way, for me a price cut really wouldn't do much, since I'll pay 600 dollars for one...

Why $600? Isnt Wii officially released in your country, and do you mean American Dollars?

I swear, only Iwata can be disappointed with 2.65 million and 3.38 million sales.

Sadly wii hasn't and won't be release here in Brazil. ¬¬

I was planning buying one in the States, but i had to buy a Stethoscope first (actually asked a friend of mine to bring me one - 180 dollars in the USA and 700 dollars in Brazil). Hate all these taxes...

Do you know why it hasnt been released in Brazil? Is the PS3 or X360 has also been released there?

I wonder what kind of specs it will have.

i expect a moderate increase. it'll be better graphically than the wii, but they won't focus on it much since it's not really needed. they'll probably buy cheap gamecube-like tech (not in power, but in terms of the same kind of parts) and they'll spend a lot of R a D making it as compact, efficient, cool, and powerful as they can with what they get, just liek they did with the wii.

come try out the computer game i've been working on for my high school senior project, titled sling ball. http://vgchartz.com/forum/thread.php?id=76669&page=1

I'm glad too. Maybe they won't make those types of games anymore. Games like AC that look like DS 1.5 and Wii Music, which to sum it up in one word, was Timid.

Leatherhat on July 6th, 2012 3pm. Vita sales:"3 mil for COD 2 mil for AC. Maybe more. "  thehusbo on July 6th, 2012 5pm. Vita sales:"5 mil for COD 2.2 mil for AC."
