Did I just read that someone claims that this is just a "STFU" to Wii gamers with no intent on profit?

If this rates higher than a 2 on the 1-10 seriousness scale then you have reached ultimate face palm status.

It was sort of a 1.5. Am I good?

I can tell you were being facetious but BMaker11 semed to believe it fully.

As for your profit comment though, how can they not profit from it?  The game engine is already developed, marketing won't take as much, source material is already there, etc....  Being a port the staff will be smaller than a full game, development time is shorter, and more.

Profit will come with just a few hunderd thousand sales because so much has already been amortized and/or reduced in terms of cost.

Well, certainly, they would profit, but they'd profit a lot more from releasing Modern Warfare 2 as a full game, because it would sell more.

Do you mean on Wii?

Quite certain that they'd profit more from MW2 on Wii as it would ride the wave from the HD consoles.   But best not to put the cart before the horse.  By releasing MW they can build an actual fan base for MW2 on Wii when that comes down the pipeline (obviously it's coming at some point).  I get the feeling that MW2 will hit Wii not long after MW does.  You could consider the release of MW as the left hook that sets up the uppercut; MW2.

Well, if it ends up being a solid port, then no complaints here.

I honestly believe this makes a lot of sense for Activision but only if they are planning on following it up sooner rather than later..

This is interesting. A game that is a:

- big ip
- not a "niche" game
- most likely a good game

If this fails to sell HD numbers then it will get interesting with the excuses.

you're a funny guy!

are you a Rol's alt?

the words above were backed by NUCLEAR WEAPONS!

Why would it?

COD WAW on Wii sold 1.2 mil according to VGChartz. It should sell at least as much.

Er, it's not going to sell HD numbers. Those reasons are not sufficient.

Hopefully it will exceed CoD:WaW, but the fanbase isn't there on the Wii so it won't sell anything near HD numbers.

A game I'm developing with some friends:

It is largely a technical exercise but feedback is appreciated.
