There isn't much use for VG$ at the moment. Sure, you can use it in the Prediction League, but that's about it. You can use it to buy FAQs, but why? You can post a forum thread and get answers while getting VG$. So, I propose a new feature.
Say two people are making a bet. Let's say a simple one: PS3 vs. 360 sales in December 2009. Person A says "PS3 will win"! Person B says "360 will win!". They argue a fair bit, then decide "let's make a bet!". Sig and avatar control is all well and good, but why not be original? VG$ is a feature only used on VGC, and the community is an important part of the site.
So, they decide the bet, and they register it (after choosing how much VG$ they are wagering) and they lose the VG$- their money and their opponent's money go into a stockpile. When the time comes around that the bet can be decided, a mod (perhaps) can select a winner for the bet, or the betters can select it themselves (this would require some honesty, but so does sig and avatar control). And then the winner keeps their VG$ and gets the VG$ of the other person.
What do you guys think? Good idea, or a waste of time? Am I a genius, or a lunatic?
