Very well, I'll give you that one.

Guitar Hero Van Halen releasing 22nd December? How many people know what that is or care about it? That's why I suggested the "tracked" option.

You can already do that. Just hit any console in the top bar and it'll take you to the console page where the news are filtered. OK, it's not perfect since if you go to DS you get also Wii news and viceversa, same with PS3 and PSP, but it's something at least

That's not very specific. I'm just suggesting using one feature to help another- the Tracked option, what does it do? Nothing, really. There should be an option to only show news for games that you have tracked, are on your wishlist, or you own.

Actually, that's not feasible, and it would be pretty annoying, so disregard it. You win this round >_>

Woohoo!

Zex 1 - Kantor 0!

Actually, you're on 2, because your KZ2 thread broke 1200 replies and my inFamous thread hasn't hit 200 yet. If you take Uncharted 2, I will push you off a cliff.

I CALL IT! I BAGSY IT! I SHOTGUN IT!

I have contacts. I can make arrangements so your req is rejected and mine is not, should I want to create that thread

You have enough money already, Mr. DB Admin!

Anyway, we're derailing the thread, so let's stop.

Seriously, we need to convince other news sites to use our graphs.

Would it be technologically feasible to meke the graphs "quotable"? Like a screenshot.
Whenever sites are writing about salesnews, our fancy and heavily watermarked graphs would be prepared to decorate their articles.

Here's my two cents:

I started off lurking on this site back when the PS3 launched. At the time, I was a huge Sony fanboy, and I wanted to see the PS3 dominate. Obviously, that didn't happen. I still came every week for the sales. Eventually, I joined the forums to give me a reason to come while I waited for the sales. As I spent more time on the forums, I became less of a fanboy, and I didn't care as much about sales. Now, I still look at sales occasionally, but I'm just not all that interested in them now. I imagine that I will be if/when the PS3 slim comes out at a reduced price, and the holiday season is always interesting.

One of the problems with the site, I think, is the lack of interesting threads. This might be because it's summer, which are usually slow months, but I'm sick of the billion threads about the PS3 slim, how Uncharted 2, GoW III, MAG, etc will dominate this holiday, etc. The off topic forum has gotten pretty boring lately too, which is sad. I'd like to see some more original threads, to be honest.

The game database is a cool feature, but I don't use it a whole lot. I've written a review for inFamous as well as trophy guides for inFamous and Flower, but that's about it; I just search the web for info on games. I would like to see more incentive to write guides and reviews because they could add a lot to the site (and I enjoy writing them), but right now, I don't see much reason to do any of that.

The only other thing I'd like to say is about the news. I read a lot of news on VGC, so that's one feature that keeps me coming back. I tend to read all of my news either on the forums, or in the news section on the site and then I'll search for it on google news to see if I can find any more information. VGC is where I find nearly all of the news I need though, so that's a very good thing.

Really, this is a great site and I don't think I spend more time on any other website (possible exceptions include Google and Facebook).

I used to come for the news and the forum. I dunno how to say this without sounding like a troll though, but 10% of the news is worth reading and only here, and 10% of the forum posters are not idiots. Couple that with the godawful news layout and the equally bad dark grey background on the forums, and I find myself hardly coming here at all except to see if I got any points in the Gamerscore league.

These are my thoughts exactly, only I never came here for the news. I came here for the chartz and the forums used to be full of smart people but I think most of them left when the site turned into a much cheaper looking version of Gamespot's website.

2.0 didn't get rid of anyone. The smart people probably just got bored. They'll be back in a couple of months.

Seriously though, look around you. The enormous majority of posters are intelligent and can properly form a sentence without trolling. It's only a few people who bring the site down, and usually they are banned soon enough (though sometimes it can take up to 37 minutes and 40 seconds).

Well, I don't know it seems like in the past trolls and buzz marketers would be slapped ten fold with by smart posters giving sarcastic comments, scepticism and by the time they were done everyone had had a jolly time but now that doesn't seem the case.

From my experience, it is, actually. Though if it's the same thing over and over again, I just get bored of being sarcastic and witty and say "Go away and get banned" or something to that effect.
