Forums - Nintendo - So I realized again what made Zelda II so special

Beating a boss feels so satisfying. Especially that second one.

Cant wait for getting my butt handed to me by number 3.

yeah that games was hard, but with proper grinding you could easily breeze through it. the final boss was the coolest thing, totally unexpected back then.

That was such a great game.

love that game, my last playthrough I only had 7 game overs! haha

Grinding is for sissies.

Grinding is for sissies. In fact, you don't even need to visit the first 2 palaces to get the down-thrust. You just run and collect the heart/magic containers, then run down grab the hammer (without the candle ) then back up, collect more heart/magic containers, then head over and get the down-thrust.

Then you run back, and the 1st and second palaces are a breeze and you get extra levels without even bothering to grind due to the crystals getting you full experience points. I should go play it again on VC. I haven't played Zelda II in over a year.

If you drop a PS3 right on top of a Wii, it would definitely defeat it. Not so sure about the Xbox360. - mancandy

@nordlead: Going to Death Mountain before beating Boss No. 2 is also for sissies.

Lol, you are a sissy

I can take the palaces in any order you want. (provided I must enter some first just to get the item) Anyways, the second palace boss isn't really all that hard. Just jump stab, and dodge flying heads shooting energy balls.

I always thought the blue iron knuckle on the horse was the hardest with the exception of the final bosses. If I were to rate them, I think it would have to go something like this

Easiest

Giant Wizzrobe
Horse Head
Helmet Head
Giant Barbarian dude
Fire Breathing Dragon Dude
Blue Iron Knuckle on Horsehead (while I may not die on him, he is the biggest pain in the ass)
Giant Floaty thing that forces you to use all your magic
Shadow Link

Hardest

So really only palaces 3&4 have bosses that are out of order in terms of difficulty.
