Forums - Nintendo - Iawata asks: Monster Hunter 3

Yep another of those "Iwata" sections, this's in japanese and it's all about Monster Hunter 3

http://wii.com/jp/articles/monster-hunter3/crv/vol/index.html

Some interesting things about this. (from a Gaf translation)

* The wii-mote part was quite funny. It started with Fujioka saying good things about the wii-mote, and then Iwata told him just be honest about it, so he said 'to start off, buttons...' and Iwata finished off his sentence with 'not enough of them'

* Tsujimoto then said they considered using motion control, but at last decided against it because hardcore MH players would spend a really lengthy time playing, and motion control would simply be too tiring.

* And halfway though the development for the wii-mote, Nintendo suggested to sell the game with the new classic controller pro, and this is a first for Nintendo to collaborate with a third party for the development of a hardware. Even within Nintendo there were people asking 'are you really going to ask a third party about that?', but Iwata wanted previous MH players to enjoy the game without worrying.

* They said the wii isn't exactly being known for great graphics, and they understand graphics plays a very important part in a MH player's experience, and a lot of people were doubting how MH would look on a wii. So they had to go the extra mile and tried very very hard. Their goal was to make MH3 to be the best looking game on wii.

* Iwata then went on and told them the designers in nintendo were stimulated by how MH3 looks and especially the zelda team were under immense pressure.

I hope this gets translated. I love these "Iwata asks" :)

Wow - a third party game that they admit is is giving one of their top-tier teams a run for their money. They'll be working hard to make the next Zelda damn impressive, then!

I'm upset at the 'no motion control' thing. I hope they allow you to swing the Wii-mote as an extra option when you attack, as I'd actually have fun with that.

Could I trouble you for some maple syrup to go with the plate of roffles you just served up?

Tag, courtesy of fkusumot: "Why do most of the PS3 fanboys have avatars that looks totally pissed?"
"Ok, girl's trapped in the elevator, and the power's off.  I swear, if a zombie comes around the next corner..."

Well, Capcom will be rewarded with the highest selling console MH for their efforts.

Also, is this the first Iwata asks that focuses on 3rd party?

This sounds great.

That is a good thing.

I can't wait to see the new Zelda game.

It's the second, the first was with DQIX.

This is certainly a sign of good things to come in the future. Nintendo's cooperation here is unprecedented.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.
