i don't think that the reason why it is selling so well is nintendo fans, because i haven't had a console since the playstation 1.

I move along, like you said... this takes up too much time anyway, I guess

I'd just like to point out that if you accept his two "facts" as postulates, the logic still makes little sense as people do not suddenly want to buy the next thing really bad from someone who made something terrible last time. That's like saying, "Gee, Baker Bob's muffins were really terrible yesterday. I want to get me some more of his muffins to get the terrible taste out." What's much more likely to happen is, "Gee, Baker Bob's muffins were really terrible yesterday. I want to get me some of Baker Bill's muffins to get the terrible taste out."

If something is teh suxorz, people generally don't stick around and wait for more because, more likely than not, it will be more of teh suxorz.

I totally agree with you, but someone would just say this to your statement...

If baker bob's muffin's were always good in the past(NES, SNES, N64) and he made one bad batch(Gamecube) wouldn't you just try he next batch to see which way he goes....

I realize this is stretching it, but I'm just saying this is what someone could argue...

It'd be more like Baker Bob making muffins that were progressively worse (in terms of sales).

I would like to assure you that I, for one, have never judged the taste of a muffin by anything other than the taste of the muffin.

Sometimes I judge muffins by their appearance.  Some muffins are lumpy, while others are the perfect shape.

Anyway, let me just throw out my opinion about your opinion.

There's no evidence to suggest only Nintendo fanboys are buying Wiis. There's actually PLENTY of evidence suggesting that NEW consumers are buying Wiis.

Didn't you read all the articles about handicapped, old people, middle-aged people, as well as plenty of regular videogame players buying the Wii?

It's clearly reaching out to new demographics. What isn't known is how long it will last...but there is NOTHING to suggest it will just suddenly die for any reason...

Besides, most Nintendo fanboys weren't that displeased with the GC as far as I know...and being displeased with a console is not going to get them to run out and immediately buy a Wii...that logic doesn't make sense.

2005 sucked something awful for the GameCube. No good games what-so-ever. Honestly, the GameCube's 2005 line-up was:

Resident Evil 4

Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance

Battalion Wars

Geist

Out of all of those, only one is ****ing awesome, the second is good, and the other two are mediocre at best. I was only disappointed with the GameCube after 2004. But I first got one in 2003 so two years of the system sucking compared to one that was awesome.

Oh man. Best thread ever. Full of polyunsaturated win.
