Maybe this was a strategy for those exclusive RPGs... release them on X360, then release them on PS3 once the base is increased? or they have more experience with the PS3?

heres what I....they let MS buy the stripped down version for easy money, the release them to there real fanbase with the full deal

Or it could be a mistake.

Gamefly has been the srouce of a number of leaks over the past few years, such as Guilty Gear and Lost Blue for Wii.  They have yet to (as far as I know) list anything that doesn't actually exist.  Gamefly has been as accurate as the ESRB when it comes to leaks, as far as I've seen.

Then I guess that's good news for RPG hungry PS3 owners.  I'm curious about who is porting it though.  SE doesn't seem too interested in putting anything out on the PS3 that isn't FF, and Tri-ace doesn't seem large enough to do the porting and work on Resonance of Fate at the same time.

They were obviously working on both Star Ocean 4 and Resonance of Fate at the same time, given how far along RoF was at its announcement, so I don't see why they couldn't work on a port of one and continue with the other as well.

Hell, given Resonance of Fate's upcoming Japanese release date (it's set for Q4), they were probably working on it before even finishing Infinite Undiscovery (which only came out last September), which means they were working on three games simultaneously.  Tri-ace is a surprisingly robust company.

I forgot about Infinite Undiscovery, and didn't realize RoF was going to release so soon.  That's 3 HD RPGs released in a little over a year.  Crazy.

Thesixthaxis game?

im pretty sure Square enix's goal this gen is to expand their market, thus releasing games made with western engines (the last remnant using unreal engine) and releasing them on Xbox and PC.

probably. if you think this is an console exclusive that is an xbox favourite.

tri-Ace does have a team of 153 members..more than enough for 3 HD games at a time

being a favourite =/= sales.

look at Valkyria Chronicles , its a Playstation favourite , but in sales its probably the same as Star Ocean.

Not to mention what Thesixthaxis said to clear up any misunderstandings about the game:  http://www.thesixthaxis.com/2009/07/23/that-exclusive-we-mentioned/

"The exclusive we got was not in reference to any of the Microsoft-published games we’ve seen suggested, it was not Halo, Gears, Left4Dead, Splinter Cell or Mass Effect. If you want those titles then we would suggest you go and buy an Xbox360, they’re really rather good. The title we were teasing about is a niche title which we are quite looking forward to and we think some of our readers will be interested in. We are not telling you what it was because we have an agreement with the publisher and at TheSixthAxis we don’t leak but rest assured that it is not any of those huge AAA games that have been suggested. That would be ridiculous."

Star Ocean 4 could fit with what they said.  I'm sad that it's not Mass Effect though.
