Western PS3 Tales of Vesperia Hinted At
Posted on 15/07/2009 by Shawn
Thanks to Kouli from the Official Tales of Forums, it appears that there might be a good chance Namco Bandai is planning for a localization of the PlayStation 3 port of Tales of Vesperia. It includes numerous extras and changes, such as a brand new character, Patty Fleur, the addition of new bosses like the Sword Dancer, Flynn being playable for more that just one battle, among other changes. The game will also be fully voiced and will include new and altered scenes, such as Yuri fighting Don Whitehorse when the party visits Keiv Moc.
In the demo's code, there were the following skills that were unused. It is important to note that each of these had English descriptions, which would not be needed since the demo was Japanese-only.
Gun Support /
- An inactive ally will occasionally attack with gun from outside the battlefield.
- Reduce physical damage during Magic Guard.
Flash /
- Nullified all enemy's attack after doing a physical guard. Lasts for 3 sec only.
Flash 2 /
- Nullified all enemy's attack after doing a magic guard. Lasts for 5 sec only.
Guardian 2 /
- Changes Crushing Eagle To SouBiRin.
As can be noted with Guardian 2, it appears it had yet to be fully translated, which could be a sign they are still working on it, ala how the DS version of Dragon Quest IV had partially translated text hidden inside the game's coding.
A few other tidbits were also hidden away in the demo's code. There is some area called Bandom, as well as a EX Dungeon and a Labyrinth of Memories. Barbos has his own Mystic Arte cut-in, Yuri and Flynn get their own full body cut-ins like Estelle and Karol, Gauche and Droite have their own individual cut-ins, and the other unused skills from the Xbox 360 version (Attack Support/Supporter, Lion Heart, Cure Area, etc.) are being included.
i personally don't really see how this is in anyway hinting for a western version, but i thought i'd share.
