Forums - Sales - The 10 Milion gap, how much long to reach it?

"Probably never as the time is running out for Microsoft.
Japan FF XIII release is going to move serious amount of consoles , same with incoming GT5 release and invitable slim and price cuts"".

Japan is not going to carry anyone at this time. Why do you think this shrinking market will all of a sudden push PS3 up and beyond? The other 2 markets are what they should looking at.

Final Fantasy will push a few consoles then it will return to normal.

Stupid short demo bundled with BR movie was enough to push around 100k consoles.

Wasn't there a 10 million gap at launch? And wasn't that supposed to guarantee Microsoft victory?

With Natal and the PS Wand yet to launch, I don't think a 10 million gap will guarantee MS victory over Sony. It certainly helps their chances, but we have several years yet to go with this generation.

Isn't that just a long, convoluted say of saying "Just wait."

Anyway, honestly, if the 10 million mark is ever reached. I very highly doubt that Sony could catch up. Sony has to drop the price before Xmas. Period.

I don't need your console war.
It feeds the rich while it buries the poor.
You're power hungry, spinnin' stories, and bein' graphics whores.
I don't need your console war.

NO NO, NO NO NO.

I wager mid November with no qualitative changes within the dynamic, and I wager late October if there are, because I take Microsoft at their word. Not prone to bullshit are they. There not going to let Sony seize, and own a pricing advantage. They will probably respond in kind, and may actually do it preemptively to make it look like Sony is responding.

Show me a 360 for $150, and I will show you a console that will start to literally fly off shelves. That would be far more effective then a $300 PS3 no matter how slim it is.

^Totally agree, people underestimate MS, we will see what happens near christmas but I will put money on it that the PS3 won't be catching up to the 360 lol

62k =/= 100k...then dropped to 22k two weeks later....yea....

Probably early 2010.

I still think once all it's said and done it'll be a virtual tie between the HD twins.

Sure, one platform might be a few % up or below (which will no doubt satisfy certain posters) but at the end it won't make a difference in the grand scheme of things.

Current-gen game collection uploaded on the profile, full of win and good games; also most of my PC games. Lucasfilm Games/LucasArts 1982-2008 (Requiescat In Pace).

The 360 closer to being 10M above the PS3 just in the Americas.

Yet, today, America's leaders are reenacting every folly that brought these great powers [Russia, Germany, and Japan] to ruin -- from arrogance and hubris, to assertions of global hegemony, to imperial overstretch, to trumpeting new 'crusades,' to handing out war guarantees to regions and countries where Americans have never fought before. We are piling up the kind of commitments that produced the greatest disasters of the twentieth century.

Who knows.....what I know is it's gonna be hillarious seeing these comments once all is said and done.

If Sony does nothing, by 2010 at the latest. If, however, Sony does something (and we all know they will, in fact we know exactly what they will do), I don't expect to ever see a 10 million unit gap.
