hell no , as much as the PS2 being my favourite console of all time, i still have my first Gamecube and Xbox. and 4 Original (not slim) Ps2's

2 are completly dead.

(i dont know about the slim ones but i heard they are even more fragile)

Source? I've had my gamecube for years, no problem. PS2 has to be repaced around 4 times before I got a PS3.

Also, many people did "damage tests" on the consoles to see which would be the winner. PS2 died the first round, but a GC literally cut in half still worked.

I thought the ps2 was at like 125 million. Also the system is selling worse than all the consoles + its slow death = not going to outsell it. I think that your wrong

As far as I know, the PS2 is the only console ever to lose a class action lawsuit due to its enormous failure rate early on in its lifecycle.


DRE on Ps2 was a huge deal. It wasn't until half way through the gen that Ps2 reduced the failure rate iirc. I went through about 4 Ps2 before having my last one for 3 years. Sadly mine broke before the lawsuit went in so I had to cough up 150$ a couple of times for them to repair it.

Alright ill admit that the ps2 is at 160m right now but, its not long before it reaches higher than 165.68m

 

Life time sales for the ps2 will be 180m.  the wii will never reach more than 120m (IMO)

 

Dont compare any of nintendos handhelds I know they all did great but were talking about consoles only here thanks.


So, the ps2 is at 160 M units, or 135 M units sold?
