According to Fnac France, and partly corroborated by the same Italian website which first broke the news about the 40 GB PS3 model, here are the bundles for the holiday season, of course focusing on what is perhaps the most important game for Europe right now - Pro Evolution Soccer 2008:

- PS2 + PES 2008 for 160 €

- 40 GB PS3 + PES 2008 for ~430 €

- 40 GB PS3 + Spider man 3 Blu-Ray for 400 € (yes, for the same price as the console itself)

Rather unsurprisingly, no bundles with the discontinued 60 GB unit, which could happen anyway from some retailers.

Sony are idiots. Why push PS2 sales for? That system can sell itself.

They should be pushing PS3 sales, all those people buying the PS2 bundles are not buying PS3's....

People who like soccer games are crazy about this game, it features very good online play from what I hear. Yes, Konami is its maker and publisher.

pro evolution soccer to europeans as madden is for americans software wise. it also seems to boost hardware extremely well, especially playstation consoles.

They are going to force people to buy a ps2 to play the awsome ps2 games. With there ps3.

The 40gb I believe is going to bring spiderman 3 already. LIke casino royal, and tallabega knights.

PES is really huge, I know a lot of people, including my brother, who only bought a PS2 to play PES. So it's definitely a system seller. But I think the PS2 bundle isn't the wisest decision, because the major difference between the two versions is graphics related which isn't that big of a deal for a soccer game. So people only thinking about playing this game may still choose the ps2.

Well lets dont forget , that at this point , the PS2 is pure profit for Sony , so they might want to reduce PS3 looses , untill development cost can go really down ...
