So let me get this straight.

At first, the Wii declared war on the 360, confident that it would win. What it didn't count on was the PS3 joining forces with the 360. Now it's a pretty even battle. So...

The real battle is between the Wii and the PS2. Yeah whether the Wii ends up selling more than the life time sales of the PS2.

The 360 and PS3 are fighting another sales battle for HD games market and they do not see the Wii as a direct threat to their market.

Considering they named flower as Lion Paw (or something like this)

then naming tank after flower make perfect sense :D

The site has gone on some updates with the data, which had a slight impact. With the latest data, the correlations are:

Wii - X360 : -0.52
Wii - PS3 : - 0.66
X360 - PS3 : -0.30

The difference is that the negative correlation between Wii & PS3 has increased, while decreasing between Wii & X360, and remaining the same between X360 & PS3. The essence of the analysis that the real competition is between HD consoles and the Wii does not change, however, now that the gap between Wii-PS3 and Wii-X360 correlation is significantly larger, we can say that Wii is in stiffer competition with PS3 than with X360. In other words, Wii is stealing more sales from PS3 than from X360 (in terms of percentages).

I don't believe in this kind of statistical correlation analysis.

Especially not the conclusion that the Wii is stealing more from PS3 than the X360.

Causality analysis is far from this easy in other areas (like medicine which is my own field, economics is another) so I doubt it can be this simple when determining gaming population preference and buying habits.
