Forums - Sales - Could Sigma 2 outsell Ninja Gaiden II?

This may sound crazy, but bear with me...

I noticed something odd while messing around with the charts just now. The original Ninja Gaiden Sigma (109 weeks old) sold 2,892 copies last week worldwide compared to 1,169 for Ninja Gaiden II (58 weeks old). This is without tracking in Europe for Sigma.

Then I looked at lifetime sales.

940k for NGII

540k for Sigma (could be over 800k with Others sales)

So, do you think it's possible that Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 on PS3 could outsell the original Ninja Gaiden II on 360? I actually think it has a good shot.

Its possible, but not probable.

Don't think so. Sigma was a remake of an Xbox game, Sigma II is a port of a year old Xbox 360 game, there's a difference.

Ninja gaiden 2 was poorly tracked if i remember correctly. It sold 1M copies in its first year on the shelves. I stand corrected.

Correct me if i'm wrong, but to me Sigma II seems more of a remake than the first one, and just like the original it's using a different engine.

Maybe some PS3 owners are excited for Sigma 2 and want to play Sigma first ?
I've no idea

I doubt it. Sigma 1 had a big advantage in that it was the only good game on the PS3 at the time of its release.

I don't think so. Ninja Gaiden is the superior of the two games, and I don't think as many people will want to come out to get Sigma 2 as the first game.

Oh absolutely. Why? Ayane and Momiji.
