how did your experiences from last gen determine which way you would favour in the current gen?

i simply loved the experience of halo 2 on the xbox, repeating outskirts so many times, then getting roughly 3/4 quarters through the compaign on legendary, searching for the skulls, not to mention the endless hows of LAN and live time spent playing multiplayer. With all the hype behind halo 3 i brought a 360 as soon as the beta dropped. Out of my xbox and ps 2, halo 2 seemed to clock up the most hours, i was so hyped for halo 3, 360 is a must. but now im submerged with all the latest games microsoft has to offer and i dont think i will be getting a ps 3 until i really got hooked to some exclusive, but for now, 360 is thoroughly keeping me busy.

whats your decision on how last gen influenced your current gen decision?

life is based on deception-carving up xbox live down under-π

With the PS2, I got used to having a shit ton of games to play. So when Sony decided that games weren't going to be so important this generation, the Xbox 360 was the only logical choice.

Last Gen didn't influence me a lot...

Mario told me what to buy.

Sony just keep delivering the goods!

The PS2 pretty much pre-rigged me to the PS3.

Goddamn Sony first party!

Sony and the games that i loved playing on the PS2 dictated that PS3 was the way and i have never regretted the decision to this day and i don't think i ever will!

Same here XD

im mostly a pc gamer, but last gen i found the xbox to be a rather pointless console to get due to the fact that 95% of the games you can get on your pc, and it still happens today. Most xbox games end up on the pc so why bother with a xbox when most of what it offers i can get on my pc? and im not really halo crazy so im not gonna buy a console for just one game. I did have a 360 i got tired of it and sold it ( after 5 rrods )

but the ps2 had over 1000's of good games, and i was intrigued by blu ray so with all the good memories and fun i had with the ps2 made me get a ps3 this gen. I also got a wii due to the fact that my favorite console of all time is the snes and my snes doesnt work that well as it use to, and hearing about how you can download virtually all of the greatest snes titles made me come aboard the wii

1)pc
2)ps3
3)wii
4)360

thats how i put it this generation

I had a GameCube and about 50 games for it that still keep me busy. I got a PS2 from the wife for Star Wars Battlefront I & II and Star Wars Episode III. That's about all I've played the PS2 for. I was excited with "Next Gen" consoles until all the hype on them. MS wanted the Media Hub for everything. Sony wanted the same and was so adamant on pushing it's BD for movies and entertainment. Nintendo was the only one that has always stated from day 1 that they are all about games. No DVD movies, no media center, no HD that would run up a $600 price tag. Just affordability and gaming. That was an easy choice for me. I own a DVD player. I own an entertainment center. I have a computer. All I wanted to buy was a game console. And that's exactly what I got. I truly enjoy the games I have to play on it and the ability to play my GameCube games that I've never finished (and might not ever the way it looks with my buying patterns). I have over 50 GCN games and I'm already at about 40+ Wii games (including stuff like RE4, Manhunt 2 (which I think is a lot of fun), Mario Galaxy, Zelda, COD3, MOH:Heroes 2, Conduit, etc.). With Nintendo's focus on gaming, that's the way I went. Besides, when my brother comes to town for the holidays, we still pull out the Atari and play that Tank game where we are bouncing shots off the walls and around obstacles to hit each other while invisible. Even with just a Wii and no other current console, gaming is good and I'm glad to still be a gamer.

Consoles owned: NES, N64, PS1, GC, PS2, Wii.
