Forums - Sales - When will the nintendo era end?

Im not a hater or anything but, wii and ds are always on top od the chartz unless the consoles have a triple A title released

Wii sports, mario kart wii fit and everything nintendo is still goin up. I dont even think natal or ps wand will even slow it down. It'll just make the motionplus even sell more.

I 'm guessing Wii will stop being on top about 2 years before wii hd is coming out

Not this generation, or next at the very least.

Next gen unless Nintendo once more goes on the innovation route... in gens 5-6 they've proven that they can't fight with Sony and MS on the same battlefield... to which MS and Sony are relocating...

Who knows?

If it follows historical trends Nintendo will own this and next gen. (Atari 2600/(5200?), NES, SNES, PS, PS2, Wii, WiiHD?)

It might be a Nintendo era from a sales standpoint, but it doesn't feel like they're dominating the gen. Not like Xbox-only or gamecube-only owners must have felt last gen. It's like three different worlds this gen rofl. But saleswise, I dont see it ending till next gen. After this gen is over it's kind of a toss up, basically.

The Nintendo era definately will not end next generation. With the huge fanbase the Wii already has, and the experience Nintendo has already gained with motion control video games, they are totally equipped to take over next generation.

The generation after this next one, maybe something different will happen, but don't expect it to be soon.

Next gneration.

Great reply CGI-Quality!

I love all gaming but can easily see the benefits that Nintendo brings to the table. They are like the wise old granny of the household. Sure they may not be the prettiest thing to look at but they are the smartest and know how to have the most fun.

They are the company that actually tries new things and really steers the whole industry. Everyone either jumps on their bandwagon when they are right or goes the other way when they are wrong. Point being that everyone makes their decisions in Nintendo's wake.

They understand that games don't all have to be about violence and have shown devs new ways to connect and gain immersion with their customers. They have their negatives as well just like every other company but they are very important for our industry and I hope they continue to do very well :)

Nintendo could have won easily had they not made the mistakes they made in the fifth gen.

I LOVE ICELAND!

Probably next one.
casuals are into the next big thing... so either nintendo reinvents the console or be ready to fierce competition.

sony already learn from their mistake, microsoft its finally innovating (buying tech that it's innovating).

sony somehow find its easy to get support to their console, microsoft have spending quite alot in a few exclusives or so they said were breaking the bank for the E3.
