Forums - Gaming - If GT5 do make it out in 09, what killer apps does PS3 have left in Fall10?

@God of War

Yeah, thats what I meant.

@Shadow Soldier

Jak and Daxter won't move many consoles on its own, but neither would Gears 3/Halo Reach. Anyway, fall 2010 is too far away to be thinking about.

@ShadowSoldier

It won't, but considering there has not been a next gen iteration yet, it has about as much chance of moving console as Gear 3. I think there was a 10k-20k bump for when Gears 2 came out but that was during the holidays...

Who knows what Sony is going to have?
Whoe knows what Microsoft is going to have besides from Reach? (GoW3 wasn't announced yet).

For all that we know, the PS3 can have Persona 5, Agent and Versus XIII during next years holiday season, it can also have nothing, why bother discussing stuff like that so early?

Bet with Dr.A.Peter.Nintendo that Super Mario Galaxy 2 won't sell 15 million copies up to six months after it's release, the winner will get Avatar control for a week and signature control for a month.

n/v you put the abbreviation for God of War 3 and that's what I thought you meant

He was talking about Fall 2010, not PS3 games in 2010.

I think someone has become too accustom to knowing a games existence 5 years in advance. If you owned a Wii, I would think you would have serious concerns about game releases considering Nintendo is the only company to keep quite about almost every game release.

If you just wait, I'm sure Sony will release a fair share of games next year. In fact, why would you even care what Sony is going to release next year, there are potentially 40-50 worthwhile games releasing between now and then that should legitimately consume your gaming time.

So what games does Sony need to contend with in 2010? Im just dying to know.

because really, there's not that many block buster games coming out on the other systems either.

can't wait for Track Season 2009/2010, guna beast out!

Travis Touchdown ERECTION CONFIRMED!

Gears 3 is not confirmed to exist, but I'll allow it and also mention games that are not confirmed.....

Games that exist:

God of War III
MAG
DCUO
The Agency
Agent (or whatever that game is called)
The Last Guardian
ModNationRacers
WKC
FFvXIII and/or FFXIV

Assumptions:

Twisted Metal PS3
Jak PS3
Resistance 3 (hopefully good, just mix the best from 1 with the best from 2 and polish the hell out of it)
Syphon Filter V
SOCOM V (proper this time, with SP campaign)
LittleSmashBrothers
Infamous 2/Sly 4

That plus the MP titles is more than enough for anybody.

Clearly, Sony is a newbie company in this industry that has never dominated a generation of consoles before. Therefore they have no skill in forward planning since they've placed their aces on the table already and no cards left on their hands.

How about some common sense? Despite all the wrong decisions they have made in the recent past, another team is in charge now. New blood, fresh ideas, of which we are beginning to see some.

Yo Montana,

This is not a doom article, it is a legit question. As a owner of all three consoles, I need to know stuff like this so I can sleep better at night.

Well Microsoft looked like they'd have nothing for this year, and now they have a great lineup. Sony may offer Resistance 3, LittleBigPlanet 2, another SOCOM, another Ratchet, and a bunch of other stuff. I'm not a big follower of first party games, so I'm sure other people could do a better job. Combine that with possible third party games (Call of Duty 7, Final Fantasy 13 and/or Vs, etc), and they'll do fine.

Montana is right. Without GT5, Sony has Uncharted 2. Beyond that, there are 3rd party games. MS made the biggest software comeback ever, at E3. Sony can do the same.

I don't need your console war.
It feeds the rich while it buries the poor.
You're power hungry, spinnin' stories, and bein' graphics whores.
I don't need your console war.

NO NO, NO NO NO.
