Forums - Sony - The PS3 Might Be Doing Better Than Most Think

SONY's doomed.

They need a slim at 299 bundled with GT5, Halo4 and Super Mario Galaxy 2 right now to save their asses...

And that's not happening.

Oh no remember? All they need to do is take out that damn Blu-ray drive and the price can come way down!!!

ROFL! Those articles used to crack me up.

4 ≈ One

This article is great, aside from being completely worthless.

Tease.

The fanblog is correct. There is still some hope left. However, excuse us if we're not exactly jumping for joy over the prospect of the PS3 squeezing out a 2nd place victory. Yippie. It's not doing better than WE think, it's doing better than the casual gaming market in the United States thinks though. It's actually doing worse than we think, if the entheuiasm around here for the console is any indication.

I don't need your console war.
It feeds the rich while it buries the poor.
You're power hungry, spinnin' stories, and bein' graphics whores.
I don't need your console war.

NO NO, NO NO NO.

The only people who say Sony are doing terrible or are doomed are haters and fanboys. Sony is doing great considering the mass of mishaps they had early into this gen.

Sony is losing money (based on its last finacial report) and in last place. In what regard is Sony doing great? I can never understand the logic.

MikeB predicts that the PS3 will sell about 140 million units by the end of 2016 and triple the amount of 360s in the long run.

They still manage to sell consoles at the highest entry price this gen while only selling slightly less than their HD rival, are only losing $40 per console now (they were losing $240+ at launch), and their heavy hitters such as GT 5 and FF XIII will be coming out shortly. They are doing far from bad, and with future price cuts and cost reductions via the slim they won't be doing any worse in the future.

I don't think the phrases "They're in last place" and "they stuffed up" are anti Sony, in fact the first one is a fact.

People are all to quick to shout "Sony hate!!!!"

Your wrong.

Most people who say that crap means they DON'T want Sony to succeed, therefore, they are anti-sony.

If they weren't anti-sony, they wouldn't say any stupid remark.

Sorry? you didn't actually refute anything I said ...

Not every negative remark is fueled by hate, although I understand some people take to comments like those like a bull to red rag.

You can use those phrases without being anti sony.

P.S saying Sony are in last palce is not stupid its fact. A lot of people including Sony fans can also agree Sony stuffed up this gen.

I was referring to the people who shout "SONY IS DOOMED" and all that other fun stuff.

Plus, I don't care if Sony is in last place, it doesn't change anything, numbers don't make how good or bad a console is.

I wouldn't go so far as to say that Sony are the victims of mishaps, its rather the result of bad strategies on their part that got them here (dead last).
They're not used to this, they're used to sitting on top of the world counting their money and waving at the ones below (everyone on the console market) so I don't think they know exactly what they have to do to get back in the game at this point.
Marketing is probably the biggest blimp to carry on their banner this gen, if they can get it right (and in the right amounts).

If this is how Sony is doing great, what would you say when Sony starts making money on PS3? or when PS3 sells the most consoles WW and make money on every PS3 sold? What you stated is that Sony is doing better now than what they were doing before. However, it is definitely not great.

This is what we call a bad article.

"The PS3 isn't selling poorly and causing problems for Sony! It's selling poorly for these reasons and isn't losing Sony nearly as much money as it used to!"

This is just some guy doing a web rant without bringing in any new information or new ways of looking at old information. I give it a 3 out of 10

I'm a mod, come to me if there's mod'n to do.

Chrizum is the best thing to happen to the internet, Period.

Serves me right for challenging his sales predictions!

Bet with dsisister44: Red Steel 2 will sell 1 million within it's first 365 days of sales.
