Not sure exactly. Killzone looks better, both have shit stories and great online, but Halo has a stronger fan base.
Can't compare gameplay because one is run-and-gun and the other is stop-and-pop.

I think it's because Killzone 2 had a sort of linear and mediocre SP campaign, where in Halo 3, you could approach objective from many difference scenerios(flying, warthog, 4wheeler, gunsablazin, ect).
Also, I think the MP in Halo 3 is about as close to perfect as a game has ever achieved.
The game was also a huge achievement, so early in the generation.
I'd say both games ended up with the scores they deserve. :P
I don't need your console war.
It feeds the rich while it buries the poor.
You're power hungry, spinnin' stories, and bein' graphics whores.

NO NO, NO NO NO.
KZ2 is a great looking game, and really shows what a great team, and engine can accomplish on the PS3. At the end of the day though, it was just a decent FPS (IMO). I own it, and have played it, and it just didnt reach out and grab me. This is unfortunate, because I bought into the retarded hype train and grabbed it first when I bought my PS3, even above titles like Valkyria Chronicles, MGS4, and LBP. I was.......saddened.
Halo 3's multi-player is tops in console gaming. Forge, clans, web-site tracking, video, pictures, fast paced, strategic, ect. ect. ect. It grabs you and keeps you coming back for more. That it why it is better than KZ2 (IMO), and always will be.
As previously stated by others though.......it is all a matter of opinion.
Master Chief vs. ??????
Seriously, who is the main character in KZ2? I think that may have something to do with it.

I enjoyed both, but Halo 3 was better for me. I don't know how it was for everyone else, but Yatzee's description of KZ2 pretty much sums up how I felt about it (Gears of World War 2). Gameplay was fun, but the story was bad and the characters worse (in Halo 3, I thought the story wasn't great but there was a certain charm to the characters). The colors. My god, I get that KZ2 is set on Helghan but the brown, dull colors and constant dilapidated environments did not do the great graphics justice. Another reason I found Halo 3 more charming. Finally the online. I just don't like the modes in comparison to my gold standard for online multiplayer, COD4 and Halo 3.
Because the reviewers preferred it, I suppose. More power to them. Halo 3 and Killzone 2 are both awesome. As for the sales, that's more to do with brand name and massive advertising than anything else.
Because Halo is huge. I don't think Halo 3 is the better game but the franchise is just massive and so is the hype. No one really expected anything besides top scores all across the board.
