Yeah ToV will be big in Japan.

It's a year old port, how big can it be? 150k max LTD sales.

Oh how wrong you will be...

Day 1 alone will top 150K.

Gamers in Japan who hasn't played this game yet are really looking forward to this game.

A lot of gamers got "tricked" into buying the X360 version will re-buy this game.

I wouldn't count on it. People said similar things about Eternal Sonata. I'm sure it'll pass 150k LTD but not in one day...

everybody too busy playing DQ9 to go out shopping it seems.
still these numbers aren't too terrible.

Proud Sony Rear Admiral

DQ9 revitalized a little of japanese market, now Monster Hunter 3, FFXIII, GT, and many medium and minor realeses will make it looks at least okay til the end of this year. Japanese market now have the importance of supporting small dev. and selling specific software(like the ones listed above), because overall sales are just SHIT.

History tells us that late PS3 ports sell close but not as much as their 360 counterparts:

Oblivion sold more on 360

Fallout 3 sold more on 360

Trusty Bell sold more on 360

I'm pretty confident in my prediction, about 80k first week, 150k LTD.

150k week one? lol no. As much as I'd like it to do that since Tales is so awesome and needs to sell more, that's not gonna happen. Namco expects like 200k (I think maybe a little more) LTD.

You have a link for that? I think 200k is a little bit too much unless they're talking about worldwide, but I don't think they're gonna ship outside of JP.

I was expecting more for Ys...

PYS 6 did as expected, and it seems to be loosing steam :|

It was on one of Namco's financial (I think?) threads on GAF. Searched but couldn't find it right now.

I don't remember Namco has ever released the shipping estimate for ToV.

Otherwise, we won't be here discuss the possible sale number for this game.

I don't know why Namco keeps it like a secret project and we don't even know whether it will get released in US/Europe.

It (PS3's market share) might hit 30%, but definently not more. ~ Neo

Ouch for Ys...then again it is a port of a compilation of a remake.

it did decent for a compilation remake. it likely pure profit.

Well I was thinking of the Symphonia situation where I think the PS2 version sold similarly to the GC version, but there was such a huge difference between the GC and PS2 userbase (in more ways than one) while there's a lot of overlap with PS3 and 360 so maybe I'm thinking to highly of its sales potential...

Didn't they get new art and music? They weren't completely lazy with it...
