There has been way too many controversial moments in this world cup, more than most I think. I might just have a bad memory of other world cups though.

I have my doubts with the goal, sucks if its offside.

It was offside, but only very close and hard to see in real time. You can't blame the referee team here. Close offside goals like this happen every weekend in every league.

weird tho, was it my channel or there were no enough replays for it on every channel? noob question I know...

There weren't enough official replays, that's correct. German TV showed with an extra slomo after the game that it was offside. I couldn't see the offside in real time.

is that how they are gonna shut the fans up by not making them the refree mistakes? :@

What happened with the replays btw? I didn't see either a convincing replay that the goal wasn't offside, or that the red card was actually deserved.

Does FIFA have a say in what gets replayed or not, perchance?

On www.Tvgolo.com there's the replay of the offside goal. About the red card, they showed some replays on RTP1 that clearly showed the Spanish player faking on the ground. He even looked at the referee before doing an expression of pain and that he had been touched. It was even more laughable than Torres dive against Chile.

Yeah I saw the video you embedded. Does that Spanish player actually pass the ball when David Villa was offside, or does the ball just pass near him? That's the only thing I wasn't sure about, probably because it's a bit low-res.

Llorente back flicks the ball to Villa, the original trajectory of the ball would be intercepted by Ricardo Costa, because Villa was too far ahead from the Offensive line.

They just showed it now on Sic Noticias in slow-mo. Worse part was that the referee was in front of Llorente/Villa, so he had a clear view of the offside position of Villa and Llorente's pass. And the side-referee was on line with Villa, so he has no excuse too.

see my question before yours, is that how now how they are gonna hide the shit? it's fucking smelly fishy.

You see, it far more profitable for them to have the current worldwide favourite teams (Spain is UEFA's new daddy little girl, mainly because that it's comprised by the majority of the Barcelona team), than to have fairly average renowned on the final stages of the tournament. It's all about the money.

Heck, I'm pretty sure no one will give a damn about the two extremely crappy referee decisions. Had them been against Spain or Argentina, FIFA would have hell to pay

fifa makes me hate football and btw I am cheering for spain now that england is gone but still , too many mistakes and it pisses me off!

Close? Oh for crying out loud, even the Spanish fans sitting beside me told me that it was offside immediately.

1 foot offside at most. It was a close decision.

Maybe we Germans got the better replays :)

I already thought Spain didn't win convincingly after watching the game, but now that I know their goal wasn't even a goal...

Whatever, FIFA can stick that cup up their collective asses. Just way too much going wrong.

I still hope a team which is playing decently is the one that wins, like Germany or something...

You can see the link in the previous page. At 00:25 there's a clear view of the offside. Villa had at least 3 feet advantage over the position of Coentrao, and since Llorente was the last one to touch the ball before Villa and not Iniesta, that touch immediately puts Villa offside.

Oh well, if you manage to play with Spain, I hope you crush them. Serves them right.

Spain 1-0 Portugal

Pause at 00:25. Villa was at least 3 feet ahead of the last defender, Coentrao on the left side of the field.

F*** FIFA, and F*** the lack of fair play from the Spain side. That red card was even more pathetic than the red card given to the Chile defender. I really hope that Spain gets squashed like the bug they are against Argentina/Germany

Oh, and F*** Portugal's second half display too.

It was not offside. Not even close.

It's funny, since you're forgetting one simple thing. Iniesta didn't directly pass the ball to Villa. Llorente did, he back flipped it to Villa, after Iniesta fumbled the ball forward.

Pause the video at 00:30, and you'll clearly see Llorente back flicking the ball.

Im pretty sure Xavi(or whoever did the last pass) touches the ball after that, that isnt the last pass.

I want Spain out, I hope Paraguay does it, at least Argentina scored 2 goals after the offside one against Mexico, and I hate Torres, dirty diver.
