I went to Six Flags Discovery Kingdom today (forever Marine World in my book) because my little bro was finally tall enough to ride Medusa. When we got there, I saw posters up advertising to play WSR at the Wii booth. I was skeptical that they got the game early, and that the posters were put up early. To my pleasent surprise, they had early copies. I got to try four of the twelve games, and the impressions are as followed:
1. Table Tennis: Not the best, but fun. The angles and timing were really well done, and it was a really heated match. Can't really say much; it's table tennis.
2. Wakeboarding: Lots of fun. Landing is pretty hard, but it's really cool to see your mii perform all the tricks. controls are percise, hences the difficult landing. My little bro and I competed for the highest score: we tied at 647 points.
3. Basketball: I tried both the shooting and pick-up game. The pick-up game is way better. You push butons to pass, but use the controls to dribble, block, and shoot. I beat my cousin 12 to 7. The shooting was really hard and frusterating. This is probably because I suck at real basketball. I was dissapointed they had a tournament on that specific game, of ALL the games, choose the one I'm bad at. :( (Winner got Wario Land and SSBB the winner was a 40-something lady who never played Wii previously at 22 shots)
4. Sword Fight: Put it this way: I would pay full price for this alone. Loads of fun watching your precise motions hit your opponent, and falling into water is fun to watch. I saw 2 little kids who obviously were used to waggle, and it was hillarious to watch each of the miis wave it around frantically.
There it is. I am even more confident of my pre-order.
Discuss.
