Forums - Microsoft - The *truth* about 1 vs. 100

IMHO ...

It's a tactic by MS to show off to devs, shareholders that the console is gaining a following. Several thousand folks are on it - at a chance to win prizes or MS points. And when you think about how much time you spend on the game, and what you can win, it could be looked at as a waste of time. You have nada to show for it. You get hit with ads during breaks - and if you are awesome, you get an Arcade title. If you aren't so lucky, you don't even get achievements.

We're getting pimped, folks. It's all about the numbers.

Yea, considering its so hard to get into the mob -_-

That is actually a very good point...however, you get the rush of getting questions right, and get to laugh at the losers getting them wrong. Also, you are paying nothing for the game (Live membership doesn't count because I highly doubt anybody bought it just so they could play 1 vs. 100) So you lose nothing except time, and you get to have fun during that time.

Past Avatar picture!!!

Don't forget your helmet there, Master Chief!

yes we are being so pimped by being forced to play a free game that gives out prizes to the winner

and for those of you who are wondering, yes we are forced to play the game, at this very moment I have a microsoft employee aiming a gun to my head

I would play it if I had a 360.

@ Leo-J - sarcasm konfirmed?

@ Ironman - oh, I definitely agree with you. My son and daughter want to play - and truth be told - and I'll save this for a blog post on my newspaper blog - but MS is one of the few companies that loves to unleash beta products on consumers. They did it with ME, with Vista and with SceneIt!

Its still a good game.

Its a way to get Silver members to upgrade to Gold... and to of course get a bit more advertising out for 360.

Out of 19 people i had online when it launched, 17 of them were playing 1vs100, for the full amount of time it was live.

Its an awesome feature and it should bring more people to 360, or at least to Gold membership

I think it's pretty good.. But I am afraid people are going to start cheating somehow.
It is fun to answer easy questions, when everybody else gets it wrong...

One time I was matched with some talkative people (never since), and a question came up that said
"what company came up with the brand Scion?"
I told them it was Coca Cola, and two of them actually chose it. The rest of the time me and the other guy that chose the correct answer were laughing our asses off

And that's the only thing I need is *this*. I don't need this or this. Just this PS4... And this gaming PC. - The PS4 and the Gaming PC and that's all I need... And this Xbox 360. - The PS4, the Gaming PC, and the Xbox 360, and that's all I need... And these PS3's. - The PS4, and these PS3's, and the Gaming PC, and the Xbox 360... And this Nintendo DS. - The PS4, this Xbox 360, and the Gaming PC, and the PS3's, and that's all *I* need. And that's *all* I need too. I don't need one other thing, not one... I need this. - The Gaming PC and PS4, and Xbox 360, and thePS3's . Well what are you looking at? What do you think I'm some kind of a jerk or something! - And this. That's all I need.

Oh, don't get me wrong - I like the game. It is fun and the thrill of 'instant answering' rocks - and being one of the few to get an answer right is sweet. However, after you are finished - you look around and realize while it is free, MS is laughing all the way to the bank. They will - trust me on this - release a number - a huge one - and say 'Look what you are missing out on!' and offer the Premium for $249 with a year free of LIVE. It's one of the many tools MS is using to lure casuals.
