Even now i get chills going to Night of the Final Day, and the epic music that plays in Clock Town after midnight accompanied by the continuous ringing of that bell gave me one of the best feelings i have ever felt in gaming and my entire life in general. |
The elephant shriek from the Windwaker re-deads is frightening, I also feel sorry for them when I shine light on them though

I never knew people were ever scared of anything in Zelda. The wallmasters really pissed me of and I was scared of going back to the beginning of the level.
Zelda is about as scary as Looney Toons.

It's not the same scary as something like resident evil.... the zombies in RE are about as scary as a ham sandwich, RE is scary because of the bits without zombies, keeping you on edge until somehting makes you jump. It's quick thrill horror scary.
Something like the way the dream state with links white eyes is a different scary, it's not frightening, but it's freaky.... the Yeti's wife's (forget the name) head spining around is a bit of both in a way... it can make you jump because it happens fast and unexpectedly, but it is also freaky in a similar way to the baby that crawls along the ceiling in some horror film and spins it's head round.... it just isn't in the character of that character.... so the Yeti's wife is a cute, kindly thing that turns monstrous, same for the baby in the film.
Re-deads, that hand thing in the forest temple and generally most of Majora's Mask are creepy, not sure if i would call them scary.
no, Zelda aint very scary
It was creepy when I went down the well in OoT, but it isn't scary at all anymore.
