I don't act any different online than in real life. My Xbox avatar looks nothing like me whatsoever though. I've tried multiple times to make it look like me, but it never works, so now I just change it periodically to something that amuses me.

Nah... I picked something vague and mysterious for my avatar.. but mostly its just the cover to a great album that doesn't really reflect my personality.

Well, my avatar is merely a reflection of my favourite TV show (though it has been so much more to me, with the videogames, the ride, the movie, and my collectibles, etc).

As for my actual persona, I'm typically seen as rather blunt and humorous, quite politically minded, and a complete-and-utter grammar whore. I suppose that I'm fairly similar on both the Web and real life.

Something to look nice to other users.

In case you guys didn't read the end of my post, I don't mean "avatar" as in your picture (there's a shit load of threads on that anyway), but as it usually means (in religion), a representation of yourself.

Haha, oh yes. My personality on this site is definitely not like me in real life. I think it's because I go on this site to let lose a bit and get away from things so I am different. For example, on this site I am a bit of a dickhead and I troll a fair bit too, but in real life I'm actually a very nice person.

Also here I am generally off-topic and my posts generally are a bit silly, but that's because I hate serious posting because I spend most of my day (or I did) writing reports and so when I come here I like to not be so methodical and boring.

Yeah, I don't act differently here than I do in real life.
