Forums - Nintendo - A rather crazy Zelda timeline

It is pretty interesting....

But why bother trying to make a time line? What's the point....

Quick, someone make a Mario time line too!

Nintendo still doomed?

While this is rather interesting, one thing bugs me.

Could Nintendo have planned the OoT story (split timeline) before the N64?

I don't believe that. If they didn't, they must have either made all the pre-OoT games fit into one timeline, or two timelines. Personally, I find the former more likely. If the latter is the case... Well, then the timeline is screwed, because the Old/Young ending from OoT was a forced fit.

The entire child continuation of the story is ridiculous, seeing as Link could, at any time after becomming adult, have gone back and warned Zelda. It makes everything you do as adult completely meaningless. That's ridiculous. Of course, this prevents MM from happening at all. Either way, I find the child timeline to be "fake", as its origin couldn't really have ever happened.

At the beginning he sounds kinda snobish...

I'd say he has the right to. He presented his facts far better than any other person I've seen posting about this (even Gametrailers).

His stuff does make sense, but, it just bothered me.

His stuff does make sence, but, it just bothered me.

If you're interested in watching someone who really knows his stuff, it will get you interested. If you just randomly browsed into this thread, ti will turn you off watching it. Or well, that's how I see it. (Morale of the day: Acting snobbish is good).

And it's "sense" not "sence" in case you care.

I err.... knew that....

gametrailers made their timeline before twilight princess even came out, so i think after TP, there had to be some revisions.

gametrailers expected TP to go right after wind waker, but after playing through the game, it was clear to me that it had to be in the timeline of the child link because the sages were punishing ganon for seemingly no reason. i think that that the younger link and zelda from OoT uncovered ganondorf's plans, and thats why he was being punished.

He had a few good points over gametrailers (i agree that Oracles had to occur in the same timeline, whereas GT put them in the parallel times, and i also agree about his Twilight Princess placement), but a lot of what he said was speculous at best and nonsensical at worst.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

Gametrailers timeline was wrong from the very start. One of the biggest factors being that they had the Oracle games on two separate timelines. Anyone that has played both knows that both have to happen for the end result to make sense. But for some reason it's always the retarded and most blatantly incorrect timelines that get the most publicity.

And yes, there is a timeline, we already know this and it was confirmed. Whether you want to acknowledge it depends on if you like to revel in denial or not, but going around telling people that they're wrong for talking about one is ridiculous. The direct placement and such is just one of those big Nintendo mysteries that may never be solved. Sorta like how no one knows where the hell Bowser got all those kids from.
